Where is Hollywood Bombshell Mamie Van Doren Now at 93 Years Old?
Mamie Van Doren was once one of the biggest bombshells in Hollywood. She turns 93 years old today and hopes to stay in the spotlight by posting some scandalous things on social media. One of her more recent tweets read, “I love walking on the beach with no panties on .. the sea breeze hits my p—- and it feels so good.” She also writes her own blog, often going against Donald Trump and other Republican candidates and ideals.

Van Doren was born Joan Olander, named after Joan Crawford, and grew up on a farm in South Dakota. When she was a teenager, she began following her dreams of moving to New York City and becoming a showgirl. She first settled for Los Angeles and began working as an usherette at the Pantages Theater in Hollywood and met her first husband, Jack Newman when she was just 17. They soon divorced after he became abusive.

When she turned 18, she got her big break winning several beauty pageants. She caught the eye of Howard Hughes, who became her lover and helped her become an actress. In the late ’40s and early ’50s, she appeared in films such as His Kind of Woman. Universal soon offered her a contract with the stipulation that she find a boyfriend who was younger and had a better image. At the time, she was dating boxer Jack Dempsey but she quickly broke it off with him to pursue her acting career.

She eventually changed her name to Mamie Van Doren and joined the likes of Marilyn Monroe and Jayne Mansfield as the gorgeous and glamorous movie stars of the ’50s. As her list of movies grew (Teacher’s Pet, Born Reckless, High School Confidential, The Beat Generation), she had an even bigger appetite for famous men and dated Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, John Carson, and James Dean, among others. She married five times and proved the fifth time is the charm as she has been with her husband Thomas Dixon for almost 50 years.

While Van Doren had her fill of working in films and collecting romantic partners, she also pursued a music career. She released several albums over the years, with the most recent being in 2017. She has one son, Perry Ray Anthony with her second husband, composer and actor Ray Anthony. Her final role was in the 2002 movie Slackers. Now, along with posting to social media, writing in her blog, and spending time with her husband and Moluccan cockatoo, she has also written several tell-all books. Van Doren admitted that she now focuses on being happy. Happy birthday, Mamie!
