With the conclusion of Boruto part 1, all eyes are on what's next for Naruto's son. Part 2 has been confirmed, but the release date of part 2 hasn't been revealed just yet. So, what does that mean for us Naruto fans?

Usually, gaps like this can end up taking a long time, especially when a show runs out of source material.

The Boruto anime recently caught up to the manga, which wouldn't usually bode well for the show's immediate future, but it's now been confirmed that production on part 2 has already begun, so the gap between seasons might not be as long as you'd expect.

When will Boruto: Naruto Next Generations part 2 be released?

It's going to be a while before Boruto returns to our screens for Naruto Next Generations part 2. New episodes might not arrive until October 2023 at the very earliest, and a 2024 release is perhaps more likely.

On the plus side, it's also been announced that a special project will arrive in September 2023 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the original Naruto anime. Four episodes will be aired in total, and a bunch of classic characters from the series are expected to show up.

What will Boruto: Naruto Next Generations part 2 be about?

Boruto: Naruto Next Generations first began with a flash forward that showed an older Boruto fighting an older Kawaki in the ruins of the Hidden Leaf Village. Fans have been looking forward to this final battle ever since, and now that the manga is drawing to a close, the show won't be far behind.
