How to hire a character in Fortnite

Fortnite allows you to hire certain characters to follow you around and fight by your side. You’ll need to hire a character this to complete the “Hire a Character and travel 1,000 meters with them” Quest in the Foundation Battle Pass Quests.

In this guide, we’ll tell you where to find Agent Jones, Brainiac, Cuddlepool, Galactico, Jonesy The First, Lt. John Llama, Shanta, and The Visitor — the eight Characters who can be hired.

There are eight NPC Characters you can Hire in Fortnite — Agent Jones, Brainiac, Cuddlepool, Galactico, Jonesy The First, Lt. John Llama, Shanta, and The Visitor. One of them, Agent Jones, has a chance to spawn in four different locations — four Seven Outposts in the corners of the island.

To hire one of them, approach them and talk. One of the icons in the dialogue wheel will be a person-like silhouette with a little plus sign on it. Select that one and hand over 95 Gold Bars. They’ll automatically equip a gun, and start following and fighting alongside you.
