Heartleaf Twayblade

Stem erect, with 2 leaves at midstem. Leaves to 1 1/2 in. long, heart-shaped. Flowers 5–15 in short spike at stem top. Flower yellow-green to brownish, with 2 petals and 3 sepals at top all the same, egg-shaped, lower petal much longer, deeply forked, with lance-shaped pointed lobes. Grows in shady damp conifer forests, along streams, in bogs, at low to mid elevations.
