She also cut off all communication.

Lorena Bobbitt says her ex-husband has reached out to her on “many occasions” in the years since she sliced off his penis with a knife.

Bobbitt, the center of a new four-part documentary produced by Jordan Peele, says John Bobbitt has sent her “Valentine’s cards” and “love notes” — but she just wants to keep her distance.

“I’m like, ‘Look, I did this to you. Just leave me alone,’ ” Lorena says in a new interview with NBC News that aired on the “Today” show Friday.

var parentDoc=parent.document.body,resizeFrame=function(){var e=[],t=”none”;parentDoc.clientWidth<420?(e=document.getElementsByClassName("lat-embed-small"),t="block"):(e=document.getElementsByClassName("lat-embed-small"),t="none");for(var a=0;a=420&&parentDoc.clientWidth<840?(e=document.getElementsByClassName("lat-embed-medium"),t="block"):(e=document.getElementsByClassName("lat-embed-medium"),t="none");for(var a=0;a=840?(e=document.getElementsByClassName(“lat-embed-large”),t=”block”):(e=document.getElementsByClassName(“lat-embed-large”),t=”none”);for(var a=0;a<e.length;a++)e[a].style.display=t};parent.window.addEventListener("resize",resizeFrame,!1);

She added that she wasn’t sure why he’s attempted to contact her, but said, “I’m guessing control.”

Lorena claims she had endured repeated abuse from her then-husband when she dismembered his penis as he slept in 1993, drove off with it and threw it into a field.

She doesn’t remember anything from that night, she said.

Lorena — who now uses the last name Gallo — was charged with malicious wounding but was ultimately found not guilty at the end of a highly publicized trial on the grounds of temporary insanity. John, meanwhile, denied the abuse allegations during the trial and was found not guilty of marital sexual abuse. John’s penis was reattached and he told ABC’s “20/20” last year it’s “back to normal.”

“I think it’s because just the act, that it was a severe organ, a male organ,” Lorena told NBC of why she believes her action garnered so much attention. “That changes the whole perspective of this story.”

Lorena says the #MeToo movement has meant “a lot” to her, and she’s hopeful her documentary — set to premiere on Amazon on Feb. 15 — will have an impact.

“I think my story, the documentary, will actually push that conversation again on the table and say, yes, it happened 25 years ago, but things aren’t changing much,” she said.

Bobbitt was also asked whether she regretted her actions on the night of the incident.

“How could you regret something that was not planned?” she asked. “I mean, how could you — you have to understand, I wasn’t in my right mindset.”

She and John divorced in 1995. They reunited during a 2009 appearance on the CBS series “The Insider.” Lorena also said during that appearance that her former husband had sent her Valentine’s cards at the time.
