Aoostar has unveiled another NAS solution that could also be used full-time as a mini-PC. Based around the AMD Ryzen 7 5800U, the device integrates a small LED display into its metal case to provide various values, as well as twelve drive slots split evenly between M.2 and 3.5-inch bays.

Aoostar has confirmed that it intends to offer a network-attached storage (NAS) solution that can hold up to twelve drives simultaneously. Mirroring the Aoostar Pro, the unnamed NAS utilises a recent AMD APU but with the Pro's low-wattage Intel options. Specifically, the NAS will rely upon the Ryzen 7 5800U, a 25 W APU that sits within AMD's Cezanne-U series.

Thus, the device will have eight CPU cores based on the Zen 3 architecture at its disposal, as well as sixteen threads and a Radeon RX Vega 8 iGPU. Additionally, Aoostar has integrated the following ports:

  • 2x 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet
  • 2x 10 Gigabit Ethernet
  • 1x DisplayPort
  • 1x HDMI
  • 2x USB 2.0 Type-A
  • 4x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A

Moreover, the NAS will feature dual-channel DDR4-3200 RAM that one could upgrade if needed via SO-DIMM slots. While Aoostar has not confirmed the device's dimensions yet, it will be large enough to host six 3.5-inch drives simultaneously with another six M.2 SSDs, plus a small LED screen for showing key device details. Based on the company's press release, the NAS will be available in early 2024, like the Aoostar Pro.
