AOOSTAR MAX and Pro7 gaming mini PCs with OCuLink arrives soon

AOOSTAR has previously previewed the Pro7 for the Chinese market. As our initial coverage pointed out, it will be positioned as a competitor to the Minisforum UM780 XTX (curr. $640 on Amazon). The brand has now confirmed that the AOOSTAR MAX and Pro7 mini PCs will be debuting in the international regions.

As for the AOOSTAR MAX gaming mini PC, it will come with OCuLink and USB4 ports. These enable external GPU support. But only the variant with the AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS will get the OCuLink port. The other AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS APU config will have USB4 only.

Besides that, the other specs of the two variants are the same. That means both the configs of the AOOSTAR MAX gaming mini PC will offer a rich of connectivity ports, which include:

• 2 x USB 2.0 Type-A
• 2 x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A
• 2 x 2.5 GbE Ethernet
• 2 x HDMI

There are Bluetooth 5.2 and WiFi 6 for wireless connectivity. As for storage, the AOOSTAR Max features three NVME slots under the hood. Memory-wise, the mini PC with the Ryzen 7 7735HS supports LPDDR5 at 6400 MHz, while the other can hold LPDDR5 RAM running at 7500 MHz.

AOOSTAR says that the MAX mini PC will run the Ryzen 7000HS series processors at up to 65 watts. Details about the cooling setup are yet to be unveiled, but the gaming mini desktop has a metal chassis.

Regarding the AOOSTAR Pro7 gaming mini PC, it has a similar set of specs to the MAX. But it appears taller than the MAX and has a different set of ports, which include:

• 2 x HDMI
• 2 x Ethernet
• 1 x USB Type-C
• 1 x 3.5 mm audio
