A NEW inflatable adventure park is one step closer to opening in Elgin after planning permission was granted by Moray Council.

Innoflate, which has locations in Aberdeen, Cumbernauld, Dundee and Livingston, will develop the new activity centre inside a warehouse on 14 - 16 Chanonry Road near Pinz Bowling.

Permission was granted for the building on May 5 after commercially viable terms for another location could not be reached with the landlord.

Innoflate CEO Darren Margach is hopeful that building warrants will be approved within the next four weeks to allow for construction to start at the end of July or at the start of August.

Mr Magrach said: "We are hoping to be open around October time.

"The inflatable park will have various slides, a warrior wall, an obstacle course and biff bash bags spread throughout 8000 sq ft of space.

"There will also be a cafe area for spectators and parties.

"It will be a great addition to the lack of leisure facilities within Moray and it is great that we are finally able to bring the concept to the people of Moray."

Innoflate parks are open to adults and children although kids under four years old must be accompanied by a paying adult.

While opening hours for Innoflate Elgin are yet to be confirmed, existing locations are open seven days a week from 10am.

The centres usually close at 8pm but stay open until 9pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

Mr Magrach said that the new location will create jobs in Elgin.

He added: "We envisage the creation of around 15 full-time equivalent jobs made up of a management team, bounce marshalls, receptionists, cafe staff and reception staff."

More information can be found on Innoflate Elgin's Facebook page or on their website.
