OVERVIEW:
This mod brings an attempt to replicate CFA-44 -ACES- similar to the one from Ace Combat 6's DLC, with Project Aces logo on the left wing and "AC 006" tailcode.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • CFA-44 Nosferatu Set from Original Aircraft Series DLC (for the CFA-44 itself)
  • Experimental Aircraft Series DLC (if wanting to replace Skin 8 - Butterfly Master skin slot)

DESCRIPTION:
This mod brings CFA-44 -ACES- skin to Ace Combat 7. The skin can replace skin 1 - 8.

Additionally, with sincerity's Additional Skin Slot mod, the skin can also be put on slot 9-18 (download file is separated from the one for slot 1-8).

As a separate module (separate download), stat modification is also available to give users the -ACES- experience closer (though not completely the same) to the original. This stat modification can be applied to all skins, or to a skin slot of your choosing. The Plane & Weapon Modification packs several files:
  • CFA-44_ACES_Main_P.pak - This file does nothing on its own, but is REQUIRED for the stat change to work (the game will crash if this file is not present but one (or more) of the skin-stat change file is present)
  • ADMM: Modifies ADMM to have increased damage (each missile can 1-shot any non-boss plane), wider homing and tracking angle, longer lock range (10000m), and splash damage, but also increases lock stack limit to 12 (can stack all missiles at one target) and lock speed to near-instant. This is intended to give the original ADMM 'feel' - fires 12-missile salvo at once regardless of number of lock.
  • EML: Modifies CFA-44's EML to have increased damage (each shot can 1-shot any non-boss plane), bigger hitbox, faster travel time, and faster reload (0.5s), but fires only 1 at a time. This is to emulate the performance of ACE6's EML. However, it does not replicate the 'piercing' property of the original ACE6 version.
  • GUN: Modifies CFA-44' GUN by tripling its damage. The intention is to give similar feel to how destructive ACE6's gun is.
  • Plane (CFA-44): Modifies CFA-44's plane statistics. Very slight increase in speed, reduced stall speed (160 now, from 220), removed High-G locking after High-G turn (meaning it can PSM right after like other planes, and no longer continues to bleed speed once the turn ends). Health significantly reduced (1 missile from normal enemy will inflict 95% damage to it - this is similar to how it is in ACE6 on Normal difficulty).
  • CFA-44_ACES_PPDT_P.pak - (OPTIONAL) Modifies CFA-44's ammo stat, applies to ALL SKIN SLOTS. ADMM ammo reduced to 72 (only 6 full 12-missile salvos), EML shot count reduced to 8, IEWS charge increased to 8. Flare reduced to 0. This aims to mimic the original ACE6 version's ammo reduction.
  • CFA-44_ACES_Stat-AllSkin_P.pak - Applies the weapon & plane performance change to ALL SKINS of CFA-44
  • CFA-44_ACES_Stat-Skin<skin number>_P.pak - Applies the weapon & plane performance change to Skin <skin number> of CFA-44 (example: CFA-44_ACES_Stat-Skin5_P.pak applies the change to Skin 5 - Mage skin)
  • ~CFA-44_ACES_Stat-Skin<skin number>_P.pak - Applies the weapon & plane performance change to Skin <skin number> of CFA-44. Additional Skin Slot only (example: ~CFA-44_ACES_Stat-Skin12_P.pak applies the change to Skin 12). Must have higher priority than Additional Skin Slot's main file (Additional_Skin_Slot.pak as of 2023-11-17)

INSTALLATION:
To install, place the files of your choosing into <Ace Combat 7 root directory>/Game/Content/Paks/~mods/

IMPORTANT NOTES:
It is not advisable to use the Plane & Weapon Modification module in Multiplayer. I recommend not doing it and keep it single-player only unless you know the risks involved and prepared to face the consequences.

These notes are for version 1.5 or newer:
  • (Untested) Installing the skin-based stat change (per-skin or all skin) without the Main module file may crash the game
  • The skin-based stat-change file on slot 9-18 needs to have higher priority than Additional Skin Slots' main file (Additional_Skin_Slot.pak). This is done by having more '~' character on the file's filename (for example, if Additional_Skin_Slot.pak is renamed to ~~Additional_Skin_Slot.pak (2 '~'s), the skin-based stat change file needs to have more than 2 '~'s, ~~~CFA-44_ACES_Stat-Skin9_P.pak for example)
  • It is unfortunately not possible to have separate ammo count on each skin slot.
  • The PPDT file is incompatible with with other mods that changes PlayerPlaneDataTable, the notable one being sincerity's Compatibility between add-on planes mod. Add-on plane mods are also incompatible.

PERSONAL NOTES:
[VERSION 1.2 OR OLDER ONLY]
While the intention is to have all modules installed, to give users as close experience as I can make to the original, users are free to pick which modules to install. For examples, users are free to:
  • Install only the skin, without the plane & weapon changes
  • Install only the plane & weapon changes, without the skin
  • Install only ADMM & EML changes, without change to CFA-44 performance and ammo change
  • Install only the CFA-44 performance change, without anything else
  • and other combinations

Starting from version 1.5, most of the above modularity unfortunately no longer applies. In exchange, the stat change can be made limited to each skin slot. It is fortunately still possible to apply the skin change without the stat change, or vice versa. If you wish to have above modularity, download version 1.2 or older.

The PPDT file unfortunately applies to ALL skin slots due to how the game works. To keep the spirit of -ACES- file from the original game, the solution would probably be turning this into an add-on plane.[All versions] This mod does not conflict with Dantofu's ADMM Type-Ace6 Vismod. For more immersive experience, try this with that mod!

BUGS, FEEDBACKS, KNOWN ISSUES, AND FURTHER CHANGES:
  • This is my first time making a mod for this game, so the changes are incredibly simple and likely flawed. Any feedback regarding the skin & weapon change would be appreciated. Bug reports are welcome as well.
  • I am still considering making this an add-on using CFA-44's base files, in order to allow the ammo reduction like the original without affecting this game's vanilla CFA-44. However, I am very new to modding this game so I do not know what that entails.
  • As per another, more experienced modder Konan's suggestion, I will try to make it so that the stat modification can be applied on per-skin basis (retaining performance on other skin slots). The add-on version I told above may (or may not) follow. This change has been applied in version 1.5
