(Associated Press) After finishing steady to higher levels for seven consecutive sessions, wheat futures stumbled today, losing as much ss a cent a bushel at times and closing at or near the days lowest levels. Rather liberal selling was encountered st the days peak and while demand was good during the fore part of the session, especially at around 88 cents for the May contract. buing interest tapered off after prices dirped below that level. Absence of mill buying except for small purchases on setbacks, a sharp break In soybeans and general drifting tendencies of the etock market influenced the easier tons of commodities. Receipts were: Wheat 3 cars, corn 77.

oats 6. Wheat closed to 7 cents under Mondays final prices. May 87, July 82 to 82; corn was to off. May 62 to 62. July 62; and oats to lower.

(Associated Fross.) Slight price changes either way gave lertding stocks a hazy appearance in todays market. Dealings were well under those of yesterday and. ntj'ar the fourth hour, minor gains and losses were pretty evenly divided. A few specialties, including a handful of senior Shares, did fairly well but the climbing urge was lacking elsewhere. While Industrial optimism remained as a bolstering factor, questions of mounting taxes and the possibility of the United States actually getting into the war continued to chill speculative forces.

Many stood aside to await tomorrows presidential budget message to congress. Bonds and commodities were a trifle mixed. Occasional stock gamers included Youhgstown Sheet. General Motors. Studebaker, Montgomery Ward.
