The First General Party Election Begins
8th-10th of Wintertide, 1846
Last year, Chairman Mstizinzar announced his intentions to organize elections within the Communist-Syndicalist Party of Acaris to determine the holder of the office of Party Chairman, as well as the offices of the Council of People’s Commissars. The elections, in which every active member of the Communist-Syndicalist Party will be eligible to vote, are set to take place in two months, on the 8th of Wintersend. This delay has been taken in order to allow for the various candidates to first announce themselves and then campaign.

Four hours after the announcement of the election date was made, Leizakh Mstizinzar announced his candidacy, backed by the Radical Faction as well as the Futurist Faction (a clique of intellectuals and artists, primarily from Keitann City, led by Letryk Mannanleikh). Two days later, Krazymir Molentiç, leader of the Internationalist Faction, announced his candidacy, running on a platform of increased democratization and a return to a multi-party system.

So far, only two other party members, People’s Commissar for Public Health Dr. Miozh Kranmar, and Major General Lorrazh Kremteikh, leaders of the Councilist and Ultraradical factions respectively, have shown any intentions of potentially announcing candidacy. The minority Moderate and Hardliner factions have already announced their support for Chairman Mstizinzar, and their leaders have announced their intentions not to pursue candidacy.

Aware that the world is paying attention, and that certain nations would leap at any opportunity to disparage the validity of these historic elections, Chairman Mstizinzar, on behalf of the Union of People’s Republics of Acaris, has invited any and all concerned nations to send certified election observers to verify the legitimacy of the vote.

A Father of the Revolution Falls
26th of Highwinter, 1848
Today is a dark day in Acarisian history. For the second time now, one of the men that led the Acarisian Revolution has perished as the result of a counterrevolutionary plot. In the early hours of the 24th of Highwinter, Krazymir Molentiç, People’s Commissar for the National Economy, and a driving force within the Acarisian government since 1818, under both the Grand Principality and the CSPA, died from wounds sustained in the 18th of Summersend Bombing, surrounded by friends and family, with Chairman Mstizinzar himself being present. Molentiç wasn’t fully lucid at the time of his death, but before he fully slipped away, he was able to communicate his wishes that his seat on the People’s Commissariat should be filled by a candidate chosen by the people, instead of by party factionalism. Twenty minutes after making his wishes known, Krazymir Molentiç passed away. He leaves behind a brother and two sisters.

Immediately after Molentiç’s death, in accordance with the dying wishes of one of his closest friends, Chairman Mstizinzar called emergency snap elections to fill the position of People’s Commissar for the National Economy. Two days later, the vote took place, seeing a much smaller turnout than the ‘46 General Elections, owing to the rushed nature of the proceedings. As a result, the final count was completed much faster, and by the end of the day, the clear victor could be declared. This victor would be Akhinta Keitann, the widow of Iyozhar Keitann, the man that arguably created Acaris as it exists now, who leveraged her relationship with the near-mythical first Chairman, along with her not insignificant talent for economic planning, to secure a solid majority. Some have raised concerns about possible nepotism, but as Akhinta Keitann *was* a member of the People’s Commissariat for the National Economy who had worked closely with both Molentiç and Chairman Mstizinzar on all three Five Year Plans, there are few that can dispute the qualifications that ultimately secured her the office.
