Install instructions:
1. Mount ISO
2. Run installer with Win95 or Win98 compatibility mode
3. install in standard directory (doesnt work anywhere else, nut you can move it to a directory you like)
4. download dxwrapper https://github.com/elishacloud/dxwrapper
5. extract from build directory dxwnd.exe and dll, dxwrapper.dll and ini, from stub directory winmm.dll (!!important!!)
6. in dxwrapper.ini set dd7to9 to 1, and ddrawcompat20,21,30 to 1
7. play the game (p.s. the windows for the settings on f3 does not show, move your mouse to the upper corner to see the settings

How to install this game on windows 10? I got both versions 17mb and 500mb and don't know how either one of them works. When I try installing from image it shows error that it can't run.

There were times when every damn 2D game had to be translated into the "ultra crisp & modern" 3D. It was during the late 90s. Especially SEGA, whose designers, artists & programmers created the 1st true 3d fighting game ever - Virtua Fighter that was mind-blowing when it appeared in arcades in 1994. The next year the big bosses of SEGA thought about converting another arcade hit from early 90s - Afterburner - into full 3D. Believe it or not, but the working title for Sky Target was...yeah, you've guessed it: Afterburner 3D! However, eventually they turned that name down and changed it to Sky Target, and here's why: first of all the new game's pace was way slower compared to Afterburner, then the designers implemented course choice option (almost like in Darius games by Taito) that enabled a player to fly either of 2 routes, but it happenned only 2 times during the entire gameplay, and finally a player could choose to fly 1 of 4 different jets/fighters that had different characteristics in handling, shield thickness & weapon power. Thus in 1995 arcade halls of Japan met just 1 more 3d conversion from SEGA. Was it ever popular like its inspirator, Afterburner? Nope, not a damn chance!
So in 1997 when SEGA committed many ports of their arcade games to PC (actually Windows since DOS still stood strong at that time) as well as their 5th gen console, SEGA Saturn, some of which were released sooner, some later. For instance, during 1997 SEGA published such games as SEGA Rally, Cyber Troopers: Virtual ON, Sky Target, Bug Too! & even Virtua Fighter 2 has been made available to PC users! Were all of those ports made by SEGA themselves? Of course not! Sky Target PC was held by Appaloosa Interactive (formerly known as Novotrade, the hungarian based devhouse, the creators of Ecco the dolphin), unlike the game's port to Saturn. The game proper aint that bad actually, it looks and plays much like its Saturn version besides the support of SVGA (640x480) screen resolution that was obviously missing from the console version. However it never came close to its arcade original in terms of graphics & framerate, alas! As if the average PC hardware of 1997 couldnt handle the picture of a game from 1995, bearing in mind that it was the time of 3DFx ascension!
Anyway, the game's quite decent overall and personally I still call it Afterburner 3D since that's exactly what they wanted it to be & I dont mind it.
