UCL semi-finals: Advantage Inter Milan after first leg victory over AC Milan

A clinical first-half display from Inter Milan has handed the team a massive boost in the bid to reach the finals of this season’s Uefa Champions League contest.

The Nerazzurri faced off with rivals AC Milan on Wednesday night in the first leg meeting of the semi-final clash.

In a game played at the Stadio Guiseppe Meazza, the two Italian Serie A clubs put on a fine show in search of a win to hold an advantage into the second half.

Unfortunately, for AC Milan, the host fell short on the scoresheet at the end of the 90 minutes with Inter Milan managing to score twice in the first 15 minutes of the first half.

First, veteran striker Edin Dzeko scored in the 8^th minute to break the deadlock and give the visitors the lead.

Three minutes later, former Manchester United midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan got his name on the scoresheet to double the lead for Inter Milan.

Despite the good performance of AC Milan throughout the remainder of the game, the team could not get a consolation.

In the end, it is Inter Milan who have secured a good advantage to take into the second leg to be played at the same venue next week.
