Ola Ross – 92, North Shore, passed away December 21, 2022, at the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Tatamagouche. Born in Pugwash Junction she was a daughter of the late Amos and Myrtle (Teed) Latta. Ola was a very active member of her community, she was a member of the United Church and the UCW and had taught Sunday School when the church was situated on the North Shore; held positions on the board for the MacKenzie Cemetery; was a member of the Malagash Area Rural Seniors and assisted in many social events throughout the Malagash Community and was also a founding member of the Malagash and Area Heritage Association. She is survived by her children, Sheila (Erik) Christensen, Thorburn, Diane Stillman, John Ross both of North Shore and Lorraine Blaxland, Upper Malagash; grandchildren, Heath (Shauna) Stillman, Dierdra Stillman (Troy Naugler), Julie (Jason) Smith, Jason (Lorie) Ross, Jordan (Jill) Ross, Alana (Paul) Graham, Edward Blaxland; great grandchildren, Jacklyn, Chy-Anne (Madison), Alexis, Kamero, Jorjia, Dravin, Jesse, Chloe (Tristan), Riley, Wyatt, Lola, Pearl, Nash, Jack and Lorrie; great-great granddaughter, Winnifred “Winnie”; brothers, Weldon Latta, Wallace Bay and Calvin Latta, Pugwash; brother-in-law, John McKenzie, Tatamagouche; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, John Aubrey “Jack” Ross; son’s in law, Nelson Stillman and Ed Blaxland; daughter in law, Sheila Ross; siblings, Clarence, Sanford, Luella, Raymond, Ross, Gesner, George and Jean. Visitation will be held from 2-5 p.m. January 2, 2023, at Mundle’s Funeral Home, Pugwash. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. January 3, 2023 at the South Shore United Church. Rev. Connie McNamara officiating with a reception to follow in the Malagash Community Hall. Donations in memory may be made to the MacKenzie Cemetery, The Miner’s Cemetery or the Malagash Area Heritage Association.

The family would also like to acknowledge the excellent care their mother was given by her homecare workers, Debbie, Marianne and Mary Ellen.
