ROYAL OAK, MI - Michigan was home to the oldest living giant anteater at a zoo accredited by the Associated of Zoos and Aquariums. That anteater has just passed away.

26-year old Chelsey had been living at the Detroit Zoo since 1997 and lived longer than most anteaters. According to National Geographic, a giant anteater’s lifespan in the wild is 14 years.
