Sorrel - Rumex acetosa (Sorrel, Garden Sorrel)

$5.95

A perennial plant primarily grown as a culinary herb for its leaves, which are used in salads and cooking. The plants produce basal clumps of arrowhead-shaped leaves and long, spiky terminal clusters of greenish flowers (blooming June to August) which turn reddish with age. The leaves have a tangy, acidic, sour-lemony flavor and are commonly used in salads, soups, omelets, and sauces. The youngest leaves have the best flavor. Easily grown in well-drained soil with full sun. Likes consistent moisture. 1.5-2'H x 1.5-2'W. USDA Zones 3-7.
