Carlos Alcaraz has swiftly advanced to the quarter-finals of the Indian Wells tournament, securing victory over Fabian Marozsan with a score of 6-3, 6-3 in just 75 minutes.
This win marks Alcaraz's 50th Masters 1000 tournament triumph. His next challenge awaits against Alexander Zverev, a formidable opponent with whom he has clashed numerous times.
In their history, Alcaraz and Zverev have faced off eight times, with the German emerging victorious in five of those encounters.
Notably, Zverev has triumphed in their most recent two matches, including clashes at the Australian Open quarter-finals earlier this year and at the ATP Finals towards the end of the previous year.
However, Alcaraz has a much better record in terms of winning tournaments, with his summer triumph at Wimbledon one of the truly great sporting moments of 2023, irrespective of whether you were Spanish or just a neutral fan of the sport.
When will Alcaraz vs Zverev take place?
The quarter-final showdown between Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev at Indian Wells is scheduled for Thursday, March 14, at a time yet to be determined.
The official order of play will be confirmed following Wednesday's matches allowing for the seeding to be completed.
The only other men's singles quarter-final to be confirmed is one between Jiri Lehecka of the Czech Republic and Jannik Sinner of Italy, with the latter currently ranked third in the world.
