"U.S. News and World Report just came out with its new rankings of high schools throughout the country and within states. According to national rankings, which are based on standardized test scores, access to AP courses, graduation rates, and “underserved student performance,” New Jersey high schools come in third place, just behind Massachusetts and Connecticut. New publication in "Educational Policy" with Cheri Daily and Dr. Shawn Coon. We qualitatively examined the process leading to Utah's 2020 higher ed governance consolidation and the subsequent/on-going impacts on the state's 16 degree-granting institutions and technical colleges. "There is a real advantage gained being a leader in a school, being at the top of your Prep School and also being in a place that has a rich co-curricular programme..." It was great to welcome Phil Mann from Wellington College on Friday to speak to our parents about the broader senior school admissions process and the benefits of a Year 9 entry. We feel very strongly about the benefits of Years 7 and 8 in a Prep School at St George's School Windsor Castle, which is why, under Henry Knight's incredible leadership (with two headships underpinning his experience), our Senior Prep Faculty has been a real focus for us. Not least because the young children in our schools need to develop a very specific set of skills to adapt to disruptive workplaces and a consistency of global change when they leave school in the next 15 years. A large piece of work by the World Economic Forum, 'Future of Jobs Report 2023' sets out the skills needed. 83 international companies from 45 economies contributed to this report. In a world where the only consistency is change, the following skills are seen as the most important: Analytical thinking Creative thinking Resilience Flexibility and agility Empathy Social influence Active listening My combining our High Performance Learning Advanced Cognitive Attributes and values, attitudes and attributes, with our Pre-Senior Baccalaureate assessment framework, alongside the philosophy of the International Baccalaureate, our Years 7 and 8 programme empowers students to think deeply about these skills. There is evidence that very young children are starting to hit key developmental milestones later. If this is the case, and they 'grow up' (or think they do) much younger a few years later, then there is a precious window to develop these skills within a nurturing setting where mistakes can be made and true growth and confidence realised. Amidst the complexity of educating for the future, IAPS schools are well placed to nurture these 'real world ready; skills, and this includes Years 7 and 8 - where our students not only think deeply, but begin to test them out as young leaders.

🎓 A Milestone Achievement: Team Duval's Record-High Graduation Rate 📈 Team Duval proudly announces a significant achievement: an 87.2% graduation rate for the 2022-2023 school year, the highest to date in years with standard state testing. This milestone highlights a substantial increase over the past decade and since 2009-10. Superintendent Dr. Dana Kriznar reflects, "These graduation rates paint a picture of the continued commitment, perseverance, and dedication of our educators, administrators, support staff, and our students.” “To put it simply — our work has not been easy. But at the end of the day, Team Duval is not one to fold under pressure. What I’ve seen in this past school year, and in many others before, is a continued resilience of our teachers, school leaders and staff to provide the best educational experience possible to our students,” Dr. Kriznar said. The rate increases span across all student subgroups, underscoring our commitment to inclusive educational success. This achievement reflects the collective effort of our staff, students and community partners.
