In my first year at Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye I delved into Mass Communication, particularly an enthralling module called Introduction to Journalism. Mrs. Toyin Ajibola, our lecturer and a former journalist, transformed this course into a treasure trove of insights from her rich experience. One quote she shared which has echoed in my mind ever since: "Curiosity kills the cat, but curiosity makes the journalist. If you want to succeed as a journalist, you must be curious." This profound statement not only fueled my passion for journalism but later resonated with me in the marketing realm. Fast forward to my current journey as a marketer, and I have come to realize that curiosity isn't just the heartbeat of journalism; it's the lifeblood of marketing too. As Mrs. Ajibola rightly put it, Curiosity makes a marketer because a curious mind always asks 'why,' and in that lies the innovation that propels your brand. In the dynamic world of marketing, where consumer preferences are ever-evolving, being relentlessly curious is the key to staying ahead. It's about asking the right questions, understanding the 'why' behind trends, and daring to explore uncharted territories. A curious marketer is an innovative marketer. The 'why' sparks creativity, leading to fresh ideas that resonate with the audience. It's this curiosity-driven innovation that sets your brand apart in a crowded market, creating a connection that goes beyond the surface. So, here's to embracing curiosity in our marketing journey. Let's keep asking 'why,' exploring new possibilities, and uncovering the insights that shape groundbreaking strategies. After all, curiosity not only makes a journalist but, as I have come to discover, it makes a marketer soar to new heights. Happy new week. #Curiosity #Innovation #MarketingInsights
