On Friday, Al-Baik, a well-known fast-food restaurant in Saudi Arabia, said it would soon open its first drive-through in the United Arab Emirates. A soft launch for the new drive-through facility will take place the following week, and it will then have a grand opening near the end of Ramadan. It will feature limited items on the menu but will serve fan favorites such as chicken nuggets and sandwiches. The announcement extends Al Baik’s rapid expansion in the UAE. In December, it opened its first outlet in Abu Dhabi to long queues of diners. The new spot will feature a limited items menu including some of the brand’s signature items. Crowd favorites include spicy fried chicken, shrimp, and falafel. The new storefront will be at an Eppco petrol station in Al Rashidiya, Dubai. After its debut at The Dubai Mall in June 2021, it will open as the eighth location for the Saudi fried chicken chain in the UAE. Al-Baik was founded in Jeddah in 1974. But for 38 years, the brand only operated in the western province of Saudi Arabia in Jeddah, Makkah and Madinah. It now has more than 120 sites around the kingdom, and in 2020, it made its first move outside of the country by opening two shops in Bahrain. The preparation technique of Al Baik, roasting, makes it so appealing. The restaurant also offers the Big Baik sandwich, a chicken fillet breast in rectangle buns with ingredients such as coleslaw, pickles, cheese, and spices, in addition to the broasted chicken. The company is well-known for drawing long lines, its broasted chicken, and a range of sandwiches.
