I'm pleased to share this paper where Dr Rutger van Sleeuwen, myself and Dr Mohammadreza Ebrahimi combine a novel model parameter scaling method with machine learning to accelerate DEM material model calibration based on mixture uniformity measurements in a rotating drum by more than two orders of magnitude. This methodical and highly automated approach which leverages Altair tools like EDEM and HyperStudy makes it possible to obtain results within days rather than the months required by the traditional trial-and-error based approach.
