This morning, was a huge full circle moment for me, presenting to aspiring young professionals across the country with Uptree. Not long ago, I was in their shoes, attending Uptree's webinars as a curious participant during my sixth form years. ☀️ Uptree's mission is all about connecting young minds with industry leaders, and it's wild to now be on the other side, sharing my experiences and insights. 🌐 I particularly resonate with their mission to ensure no young person is left behind on their journey from #education to employment - a mission very close to my own activism. Our secret sauce 🤫 📈📈📈 The wisdom of the crowd. Warning, buzzword incoming. We 'democratise' our roadmap 😂😂 Yep, I hate the D word but we really do. We use a platform called Canny which integrates seamlessly into our support system. This allows all clients to suggest improvements and feature ideas in seconds. It also allows clients to view other ideas, upvote them and comment on them. Why is this so important? Even at my most egotistical, I know that me and my team don't know everything, far from it. Those best placed to tell us how we can improve are those using Volunteero on a day-to-day basis. The Wisdom of Crowds is a book I read when I was 18 and was fascinated by. The premise is that the collective opinion of a diverse independent group of individuals is likely to be "better" than that of a single expert. Opening up to ideas from users at our clients means we can benefit from the wealth of experience and knowledge possessed by thousands of people with millions of hours of relevant experience in the sector. (do the math, it is legitimately millions) This blows my mind!!! BUT there is no point in collecting ideas and feedback if you do not take action so thanks to our amazing team we have completed and rolled out 45 improvements suggestions and features in just 9 months 🤯🤯🤯🤯 Speed and quality is the name of the game here. Oh, and we just released badges which was highly requested. In fact, there have already been 300 badges sent out in just 48 hours since the release of the feature.
