Just when I began to get excited about enrolling my daughter for coding lessons, Jensen Huang (The Nvidia CEO) drops the banger! AI will eradicate coding! He further goes on to say everyone would be able to "say" to the computer what they want it to do. AI would then code that to existence. Well, everything must always have a foundation and it seems, most probably that almost everything would be built with AI as the base.

Yesterday's outage at Meta and the angst it caused now buttresses the point more than ever before, that the world has moved online. Reports say there are now 5 billion active users (over 60% of world population). It shows clearly that despite regional and state barriers, people want to connect, share their thoughts and ideas, be abreast of current affairs. Social media has indeed made the world a smaller place.

All hands must be on deck to tackle insecurity in Nigeria. The perpetrators are now more emboldened. On one hand, there seems to be insufficient deterrence. On the other hand economic hardships have led to the proliferation of crime. Let's not into delve into the heartbreaking stories.

On global security:   My thesis is that there has been a proliferation of state backed terrorism/violence since the pull-out of America from Afghanistan.   See the timeline below:   Aug 2021-America pulls out of Afghanistan  Feb 2022-Russia invades Ukraine Sept 2023-America does prisoner swap and unfreezes $6billion for Iran Oct 2023-Hamas attacks Israel  Nov 2023-Yemeni Houthis backed by Iran attack Red Sea shipping    At the moment North Korea is redefining her relations with the South. There has also been significant increase in terrorist attacks in Nigeria and West Africa. We do not also know the next level of escalation of the Russian/Ukraine war.    So I would say that the incoming leadership of the USA and key countries in the West have a huge task in deescalating tension and deterring more violence.   In the short and medium term, trade is already been affected with some global brands like Next already communicating planned delays over the Red Sea incidence.

Some jobs would not give you serious money but they will provide stability, experience and a work-life balance. Depends on your objective and motivation for 2024.
