The global diabetes prevalence is estimated to rise from 9.3% (463 million people) in 2019 to 10.2% (578 million) by 2030 and 10.9% (700 million) by 2045. The prevalence is reported to be higher in urban (10.8%) than rural (7.2%) areas, and in high income (10.4%) than low #income countries (4.0%). All this is facilitated by the #lifestyle, #food, working conditions among other factors that are demographically different. Of course, the figures are worrying because if diabetes is left untreated, it can cause serious #health conditions that can affect various parts of the body, including the eyes, kidneys, and nerves. However, as the saying goes that #Prevention is better than cure, we believe that creating #awareness about this chronic #Disease can enlighten you and yours on how to better understand, avoid, and treat the disease incase you have it. To quote the authors: Many responses to the global oxygen crisis have focussed on aspects that primarily benefit larger facilities, such as liquid oxygen, onsite plants at large hospitals, and higher end ventilatory equipment. Future efforts to improve oxygen systems must include small facilities that serve poor and difficult to reach populations if we want to achieve the potential population health benefits of medical oxygen.

The diversity of patient populations, substantial disease burden, and potential cost-effectiveness make Africa an advantageous environment for conducting clinical research in the development of new medical products. Totally agree! Lack of access to palliative care must be addressed within the framework of broader systemic injustices.  Social criteria such as race, class, gender, age, (dis)ability, nationality, language and sexual orientation intersect in powerful ways to influence access to power, status and resources, with greater disparities manifesting in neoliberal, capitalist contexts.  Thus, integrating needs and rights-based approaches in palliative care must challenge the structural conditions that underlie inequitable access.  Need to move beyond a narrow expert-led clinical approach to biopsychosocial, spiritual and participatory approaches.
