Our member firm Alpax are pleased to share with you a transaction of Mergers & Acquisitions in the Paraguayan Financial System, recently closed by Alpax . The Transaction consists of the Merger by Absorption of Banco Regional S.A.E.C.A. by Sudameris Bank S.A.E.C.A., making the new Combined Entity the largest bank in Paraguay in terms of Assets, Net Portfolio and Funding as of April 2023: - Assets: US$5,080 MM - Net Portfolio: US$3,729 MM - Total Funding: US$4,618 MM   The Combined Entity will operate under the Sudameris brand, enhancing its ability to serve its customer base, both at the Corporate level and in the Personal and Consumer Banking segment.   Likewise, the Combined Entity will have the capacity to finance projects of greater size and scope, in line with the growth of the Paraguayan Economy.   The Transaction also covers Banco Regional's subsidiaries: Regional Seguros and Regional Casa de Bolsa.   The physical integration of both operations was completed on July 1, 2023, after the approval process by the Central Bank of Paraguay and other competent regulatory entities.    Alpax acted as exclusive Financial Advisor to Banco Regional S.A.E.C.A. in this Transaction.
