#MeetOurStudent It was just last year when Amarr Scott graduated from the SER Metro YouthBuild Learning Academy. Recently, Amarr formally awarded the Frank D. Stella Scholarship Award at our annual, Amigos De SER Luncheon. Currently, he is participating in the Youth Core Conservation Program for the second year now and plans to continue in the Construction Trades Industry as his Career Pathway of Interests. Amarr enjoys working with his hands and enjoys working outdoors in nature and rebuilding homes. He has really enjoyed his involvement in the Forestry Program through the YCC Program. Amarr has always been very positive and respectful, as well as helpful with his peers. He wants to go to college and participate in an Apprenticeship Program in the Construction Trades Industry and gain more skills. Amarr reports that SER Metro has allowed him to successfully achieve his goals and exposed him to a whole new world that he never knew existed. through his affiliation with the Youth Core Conservation Program, Amarr has been helping to rebuild homes up North, work outside, be exposed to nature and wildlife and each time he has returned home briefly on short breaks, he's been so excited about the experiences he's had.

A special thanks is owed to our Mayor, Mike Duggan, for taking time out of his busy day to greet and address our guest at our annual Amigos De SER Luncheon 🙌🏽 Mr. Duggan not only spoke about the fine work conducted at SER, but also announced Detroit's new credit rating accomplished by he and his team in under 10 years! We want to scream a big congratulations to our graduates of Cohort 36 from our ReBuild Detroit Program. This cohort was able to visit the Iron Workers, IBEW Training Center, and Bricklayers Training Center. They were also able to get some hands on with IBEW and the bricklayers. They did an amazing job building a mini wall and a tall wall as their projects for the cohort. They were one amazing cohort to work with. Congratulations Cohort 36!
