We had an opportunity yesterday to partner with our Sponsor Morgan Stanley on a staple event for our chapter, to get students prepared for the #2024ALPFAConvention. With the help of MS, the focus was on meeting employers by practicing elevator pitches, reviewing resumes, and providing interviewing best practices. This wouldn’t have been possible without the help and coordination effort of our board members Mechaella Matute Arbon, Flor Garcia, and Ali Salman. As Women’s History Month draws to a close, I'm thrilled to spotlight the success of ALPFA, The University of Utah’s 1st Women of ALPFA Event. This year’s theme, “Blooming Empowerment, ” aimed to foster collaboration, creativity, and connection while celebrating the beauty and resilience of Latina women in the corporate space. The event concluded with a networking opportunity through the creation of bouquets. 🌺 Our event's triumph is a testament to the meticulous planning and dedication of our team. I extend heartfelt gratitude to Ruth Khan for her guidance and support in bringing this event to fruition, and for entrusting me with the opportunity to moderate our incredible panel. 😁 A special thank you to Norka Nishijima, Mechaella Matute Arbon, Brenda Garcia, and Connie Gonzalez for generously sharing their time and insights with our students. One of our favorite events of the year is our Meet the Sponsors event. Where we create an opportunity for our Sponsors to connect directly with student chapters across the state. This past week we joined the ALPFA BYU Chapter and BYU Latinos Unidos Club for an incredible gathering that created opportunities for everyone there. The students got to connect with our sponsors and discuss potential job opportunities, and our sponsors where able to meet the great talent that supports these both organizations on campus.
