ReTroViRuS2021-03-28 Rudolf Stember created an ambitious orchestral soundtrack for Realms of Arkania. It is really great and plays a huge part in making the journey of your party in this game feel epic. Even after more than two decades, I never got tired of listening to the music. mailman2021-02-07 (7/10) This is good RPG game. It is not a typical dungeon crawler but rather a true RPG with a possibility to take almost every possible action. It makes the game a bit overcomplicated but true RPG fans will love it. The game is travel oriented and depends more on the planning aspect than just equiping yourself and hacking and slashing all the beast. View all comments (899)
mike_tyson2013-11-29 This is based on the German pen & paper RPG "Das Schwarze Auge". I never liked DSA and always felt it was just a cheap D&D ripoff, but still DSA was very popular in Germany. The first computer game in this trilogy is based on a stepmode-engine with tactic battles. Character simulation is very detailed (hunger and thirst are dealt with separately and so on). The graphics are goofy but done in the style that was typical for DSA during that time. They put a lot of effort into making this true to the original pen & paper RPG. Overall it is not a bad RPG, what I liked most about this one was the ability to split your party and control the two subgroups separately, something that has been implemented in only very few RPGs. The third part of this trilogy was never ported to Amiga to my knowledge, and was clearly the best with good graphics and a cool raycasting engine. View all comments (99)
Karter2007-06-10 (10/10) The intro music is quite amazing and a national tv channel in turkiye used it in their news about 10 years ago. Good game , worth every penny. View all comments (181)
Shunichiro2007-04-12 I remember this game was full of features and little details to make it more realistic than some other offerings in the genre but at the end of the day most of them proved to be more of a hindrance than genuinely innovative gameplay mechanics. So the game became unnecessary tedious even though you have to give credit for its massive scale. For fans of heavyweight CRPGs. View all comments (166)
Predseda2006-07-12 (8/10) One of the best dungeons ever made. Very, very large world, with a lot of possibilities where to go or what to do. It is possible to split your team (this was very innovative at those times), hundreds of items, very good fight system and other nice improvements made this game - if you master it - very enjoyable. Note the AMAZING intro music! View all comments (800)
