Get Amiga Forever for a great Amiga emulation experience and licensed Kickstart ROMs.

Along with the Monkey Island games this is another true classic adventure game on the Amiga. Different tone but dripping with atmosphere and good story. Really great game!

Great game! Even better on CD32 because of the speech samples and not having to swap disks constantly.

After the Monkey Island games this is the best adventure game. The cyberpunk atmosphere together with the great voice acting creates a great feeling. Well balanced between humour and seriousness makes this one a classic!

Excellent point and click adventure. Great cyberpunk overtones remind me of vintage Philip K Dick, say Blade Runner with a little Scanner Darkly thrown in. The adventure is slightly taxing, but never requires anything absurd like Monkey Island or Simon did. The character of Joey the Robot is legendary. The voice work in the Talkie version is also entertaining. 9/10
BEST VERSION: CD32 through ScummVM. This has the same speech as the DOS version with the advantage of far superior music reproduction. You can use save states so you don't have to rely on the codes given in game.

Only good adventure, but this excitement about this game is incomprehensible for me. From Revolution Software i prefer Lure of the Temptress. 6/10

Great game. Slow loading voices and a bit buggy though... The game would freeze sometimes during loading for no appearent reason. VERY annoying!!

Eiji, what are you talking about? Disk swapping on the CD version???
Anyway, I don't see the point in playing a point 'n' click game with a paddle, that's just plain masochism

Best CD32 Adventure (well, despite Simon the Sorcerer...), very good acting and a deep game to explore: not as revolutionary as Lure of the Temptress, though (and no disk swapping Eiji, this version was on one cd...)

Too much disk swapping

I started to play it yesterday and I was stuck to the monitor screen for many hours. How could I ignored this game for all those years??? Superb game, in the best Revolution Software traditions!!

Beneath A Steel Sky features one of the most interesting settings in the genre. The smog-clouded upper levels of Union City are in stark contrast to its more inhabitable lower levels. This is reminiscent of Fritz Lang's feature film Metropolis. Outside the borders of the city lies a deserted wasteland similar to the one featured in the novel Brave New World. And then there are the rivaling cities, competitors for power and domination. We don't get a lot of backstory in Beneath A Steel Sky, but the details that are there are highly evocative.

WOW! This game was great, a fantastic adventure game full of surprises and nice GFX, atomspheric scenary and intros, cut-scenes. I had the Amiga CD32 version and was not disappointed. Someone has commented that a sequel is on the way? Hmmm will look out for that, wouldn't it be great if they could make an Amiga version as this is where the game started

Lots of discs, though when I got my hard-drive it made it a lot easier to play! A truly sinister point and click, in which you could also die which was unusual for the genre. Only irritant is that my copy was bugged which meant you could not finish the game, getting stuck right at the end. Roll on the sequel though! It is being made.....

I enjoyed this game very much. The graphics, the atmosphere, the humour... But my copy (disk version) crashed everytime in one certain point. I swapped it for another copy in the store but it was the same story. I could've swapped it for some other game altogether but I decided to keep it anyway as I liked it so much. Some years passed and I bought a PC talkie version. Imagine my disappointment when I realized how little game there was left after the point my Amiga version crashed...

Don't forget that this game was released into the public domain by Revolution Software in 2003 or 2004! The PC version if downloadable from their web site. But the game is playable with ScummVM, which is ported to the Amiga as well as many other platforms.

A good adventure game. Only complaint is the linear path, if you don't know the tiny fiddly thing you are supposed to do next the game will not progress. Anyway it's still fun and one of the best adventure games.

Excellent adventure game. I still have that small comic book that came with certain magazines, introducing you to the game. Recommended.

They should teach this game in the adventure writing school.
