>> THIS IS KCRA THREE NEWS ON MY58. WE BEGIN WITH BREAKING NEWS. GULSTAN: DID YOU SEE IT? TAKE A LOOK. A BRIGHT LIGHT SPOTTED ACROSS THE REGION STREAKING ACROSS THE SKY. BEFORE A BRILLIANT EXPLOSION LIGHTS UP THE SKY. WITNESSES ARE NOW REPORTING THAT SOMETHING FELL INTO A HOME AND STARTED A FIRE. WE’VE GOTTEN CALLS FROM ACROSS THE AREA TONIGHT, WITH PEOPLE SPOTTING THE BRIGHT LIGHT IN THE SKY. EDIE: HERE IS WHAT WE KNOW. THE TIMING DOES MATCH UP WITH THE START OF THE FIRE IN THE ANGLE BRIGHT RESERVOIR AREA. INVESTIGATORS HAVE NOT CONFIRMED WHETHER THE METEOR WAS THE CAUSE OF THAT FIRE. HE CAN SHOW YOU, ONE OF OUR OWN KCRA EMPLOYEES WAS DRIVING HOME WHEN HE SPOTTED THIS LIGHT IN THE SKY. A SMALL LIGHT THAT SEEMS TO FLARE UP. HERE’S ANOTHER LOOK. WE SLOWED DOWN THE VIDEO THIS TIME SO YOU CAN GET A BETTER LOOK. THIS VIDEO IS OUT OF EL DORADO HILLS. BUT PEOPLE ALSO SAW IT RANCHO CORDOVA, AND ALL THE WAY UP NEAR BEALS AIRFORCE BASE. GULSTAN: AND HERE’S ANOTHER LOOK AT THE LIGHT. THIS WAS TAKEN FROM A RING CAMERA IN REDING. HERE YOU CAN SEE WHEN THE LIGHT FLARES UP THE SKY TURNS BLUE FOR A MOMENT. SO FAR, THERE’S NO OFFICIAL CONFIRMATION WHAT CAUSED THE LIGHT. BUT RIGHT NOW WE ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TAURIDS METEOR SHOWER. NORMALLY, THOSE YOU ONLY SEE A SPARSE NUMBER. BUT SOME DO FLARE UP GIVING SPECTACULAR LIGHT LIKE THIS. IT’S LIKELY THIS METEOR JUST BURNED UP IN THE ATMOSPHERE, SO THERE’S NO DANGER. WE DON’T KNOW IF THAT IS THE CASE HERE AND WHETHER THAT HOUSE FIRE THAT WE HAVE BEEN HEARING ABOUT IS INDEED CONNECTED TO THE ROCK FROM SPACE. WE WILL BE ON THAT STORY THROUGHOUT THE NIG

Video taken from El Dorado County showed a bright ball descending from a dark night sky. A homeowner captured the fireball from a Ring camera in Redding.The clip showed a bright ball in the sky flash before disappearing along the horizon.Astronomers said Friday night is when the Southern Taurids meteor shower was set to peak. It's known for creating very bright fireballs in the sky. Astronomers said this shower is expected to include an increased number of bright flashes.
