Over the weekend, the couple announced the birth of their son, Cardinal Madden, and a source told People that Diaz is thrilled about expanding their family. “They were always hoping for a second baby because they love being parents," the insider said. Diaz and Madden welcomed their first child, daughter Raddix, in 2019 after a "long journey" to becoming a mother. "For years, Cameron wanted to be a mom," the source continued. "She gets very emotional when she talks about the long journey to motherhood. The words, "A little bird whispered to me," were also etched across the paper. The couple revealed the little one's name in addition to explaining why they wouldn't be releasing photos of the baby boy. "We are blessed and excited to announce the birth of our Son, Cardinal Madden❤️🙏," the caption read. "He is awesome, and We are all so happy he is here! For the kids' safety and privacy, we won’t be posting any pictures- but he’s a really cute ☺️" "We are feeling so blessed and grateful 🍀," they continued. Similar to this time around, Diaz and Madden also welcomed their daughter quietly and surprised fans by posting the announcement on Instagram. Shortly after her arrival, Diaz opened up about motherhood in a 2020 interview with CEO of Who What Wear Katherine Power, per ABC News. "I love being a mother. It's the best, best, best part of my life," Diaz previously said. "I'm so grateful and so happy, and it's the best thing ever, and I'm so lucky to do it with Benj, and we're having the best time. I'm thrilled."
