The Al-Hilal winger will not be absent on the last date against the Paraguayans, being a very important casualty, but Ricardo Gareca would have his replacement in mind.

The Peruvian national team will hold a tough commitment this Tuesday, March 29 against its Paraguayan counterpart in a clash valid for the 18th date of the South American Qualifiers. Undoubtedly, a victory ensures the 'bicolor' in the place of the pre-World Cup repechage in Qatar 2022. However, André Carrillo's loss is the big concern, although the player himself sent a heartfelt message through his social networks.

The Saudi Arabian Al-Hilal footballer used his Instagram account to post a message of thanks to everyone who showed their concern for his health, adding that he will return even stronger. “Thank you for the messages and the love. I will come back stronger”, commented the 'Snake' adding an emoji as a sign of strength and affection.

Immediately, several of his teammates in the 'bicolor' and football in general responded to this post with striking messages. “I miss you habibi (my love),” Wilder Cartagena wrote. For his part, Carlos Olascuaga, current Ayacucho FC player and Carrillo's former teammate in Alianza Lima, also spoke out. “You're going to come back stronger brother. Speedy recovery.” In addition, Gianluca Lapadula was another of those who publicly expressed his support. “I miss you my brother, speedy recovery,” he wrote. Also present were his teammate in the Arab team, Odion Jude Ighalo, Aldo Corzo and Solomón Libman, among others.

And it is that André was one of the most sharp and dangerous players that the national team had in the last match against Uruguay. In the counterattacks he sought to generate goal chances or assist a teammate to score but, unfortunately, none were fine in the definition. Neither did Lapadula himself, who had two chances to convert and could not transform them into a goal.

INJURY

In fact, the injury of the Peruvian winger came in a start, typical of the same player although this time for the left sector. The Uruguayan steering wheel, Rodrigo Bentancur, dotted the ball. Even almost without touching it, but the 30-year-old footballer felt a destabilization and fell very sore. Despite the fact that in the television shot it is not clear at what point the knee moved, Carrillo's gesture showed that the injury was considerable.

And so it was, after some tests the day after the match, it was determined that André was suffering from a sprained left knee, so he was dismissed from the latter meeting with the Paraguayans in Lima.

The fact that it is a sprain takes less time to recover compared to if it were a torn ligament in the knee. Just as happened to both Paolo Guerrero and Jefferson Farfan. Although in the case of both of them it caught them at a time of seniority and where the recovery processes are becoming increasingly slow.

In any case, Peru is expected to achieve that long-awaited victory against the 'Albirroja' at the National Stadium that will allow it to secure the quota of the repechage, position where it is currently located. If he wins, he goes straight to facing the representative of Asia. In that sense, and taking into account that the match would be played in June, when the 'Culebra' could be in top condition.

POSSIBLE REPLACEMENT

Now, focusing on the match against Paraguay, in the last practice match, Ricardo Gareca chose to play with Edison Flores instead of André Carrillo. Although it is not his natural position (he plays on the far left), at DC United he has alternated positions for this band and would be the surprise of the 'Tigre'. For now, we will follow carefully what the coach decides in the training session this Monday, 28.
