It charts the conception of the Lorraine machine (that would become the first Commodore Amiga), the early years and team spent working on the machine, the buyout of Atari followed by Commodore, the launch of the original Commodore Amiga machine (later renamed the Amiga 1000) and the subsequent Amiga 2000 and Amiga 500 machines which conclude before 1989 is out.

A1200.Net compatible Keycaps for Amiga computers still needs your support

During this year we've always tried to keep you up to date with the latest happenings with A1200.net and their Amiga case and Keycap Kickstarters. And so we announced the very successful crowd funding campaign for the latest Amiga cases which at this time is still on course for a December delivery which includes your choice of colours pledged during the campaign. But there is a downside to all of this and that isn't any possible delays, but the keycap Kickstarter is still only at $77,080 pledged of a $102,000 goal. Which means for the time being you'll get a lovely new case and accessories but not so much the beauty of the cases teased in the video below.

Berusky - Sokoban-style game on the Amiga gets an improved update

We haven't finished featuring Amiga news yet as yesterday BSzili released an update to his Amiga port of the MS-DOS Sokoban-style game ' Berusky ', which was originally developed by the Czech team Anakreon. Now if you've not heard of this game before, I hadn't, it requires alot of skill and patience as you have to move boxes around in a maze to collect certain items. It features explosives, stones, special gates and up to five bugs who can cooperate and be controlled by the player.

Inviyya - Pre-Alpha footage of an in development Amiga Shoot Em Up

More Amiga footage today and yes it's another Shoot Em Up, is Steril707's in development game ' Inviyya '. First announced via the EAB forums in October, this Amiga game was originally started as a design exercise for himself in learning Amiga ASM by coding with the end result of creating a space shooter level with only 8 colours. Fast forward to this week however and the first and very early pre-alpha footage has been shown off, giving us a glimpse into this R-Type style Shoot Em Up.

WinUAE 3.4.0 beta 17 - The latest Amiga emulator beta update features American Laser Game support

A rather sweet update article today for Amiga users, as the latest WinUAE beta release features a very decent addition indeed. In the latest WinUAE 3.4.0 beta 17, Toni Wilen has added American Laser Game support in light of the discussion thanks to Earok on the EAB forums. According to Earok one of the American Laser Disc games ' Mad Dog McGree ' was powered in an Arcade cabinet via an Amiga 500, along with a genlock and a laserdisc player. Now thanks to a long running debate, the first beta WinUAE has been released and actually has a American Laser Games configuration setting.

EgoWings - Alpha footage of a new Shoot em up on the Amiga

During these last few years Javier Alcaniz with music by Carlos Del Alamo has been hard at work on a brand new Shoot em up in development for the Amiga, with specifications only requiring an Amiga 500 (1meg). Although the screenshot above doesn't look like much, the video shows off a good glimpse of the game in action, with decent enough landscapes, enemy waves and lots of blasting to be done.  For anyone wanting to play the game, there are hints of a demo release toward XMAS!

Pinball Dreams CPC Preview - Is the Amstrad port preview of an Amiga classic any good?

Amiga simulation classic Pinball Dreams has made the jump to Amstrad CPC in spectacular fashion. This is an early preview of what we hope will be a complete game, brought to us by the impressive Batman Group (responsible for the Batman Forever demo). For the meanwhile, we have the delights of the BeatBox table to have a bash at, so I take a look into this with very non-biased eyes... erm.. I have included a bit of gameplay from the Amiga original for comparison. It's remarkable.

Candy Puzzle - CUBO CD32 Puzzle game makes an appearance on the Amiga CD32

Fresh off the press AmigaJay has announced the release of a rather rare Puzzle game, that is now playable on both original Amiga CD32's and via emulation. This game is called Candy Puzzle and is better known as a CUBO CD32 original, and was released by CD express in Milan way back in 1994. For those of you who don't know anything about the CUBO CD32, it was an arcade machine with CD32 internals hence this game not appearing on the home system, at least until now.

Super Mario Bros appears on the Amiga as a project called Other Super Mario

This year could almost be classed as the year of the Mario as it seems there has been no let up in that famous plumber either appearing on different systems as ports, fan games on the PC with Super Mario Bros. X 2.0, or hack jobs such as Communist Mario on the NES. And yet the year hasn't finished, as here we are again with another Super Mario Bros and this time Shigeru Miyamoto's game has been shown off on the Amiga as a project by Retro1234

Heart Of The Alien Redux Amiga CD32 - Another World sequel as an Amiga port is updated to beta 5!

It wasn't long ago the Sega CD exclusive ' Heart of the Alien ' appeared on the Amiga as an incredible port known as ' Heart Of The Alien Redux Amiga V1.0. The sequel to the amazing 1991 Delphine Software ' Another World ', but instead was developed by Interplay Entertainment. Was fully ported over with everything intact. And it was also no wonder it ended up also getting an optimised Amiga CD32 version by DJM and released as a beta. Yet fast forward to today however and Earok has made available an even better version as beta 5.

A1200.Net launches compatible Keycaps for Amiga computers - Kickstarter!

This year in terms of life's experiences has been pretty awful, what with my own relationship at the brink of destruction, so you can probably understand why this news update was a bit late, even if it did cheer me up just that little bit. Well here it is, after months and months of writing up the new Amiga case kickstarter which was a resounding success, the same project lead A1200.net has during the weekend announced the Keycap campaign Kickstarter to go with the Amiga cases that are now in the manufacturing stage. Yes you heard that right, Amiga owners across the globe will finally be able to not only have a new Amiga case but an entire set of lovely keycaps in a multitude of different colours!

WinUAE 3.4.0 Beta 15 - Amiga Emulator beta update features speed improvements

More good news for the Amiga as Toni Wilen is still hard at work on his Amiga Emulator WinUAE and has released ' WinUAE 3.4.0 Beta 15 ' in both 32bit and 64bit. You may wonder why we didn't mention beta 14 that's because from many of the reports on the EAB forums, it wasn't particularly speed optimized with older betas being faster. Now on to beta 15 and it looks as if Toni has improved it with one such user noting a " 25% improvement '. As ever please see the changelog for more details including a WASAPI sound fix related to hanging.

Heart Of The Alien Redux Amiga v1.0 - Another World sequel as an Amiga port gets an Amiga CD32 beta release

Only just recently the Amiga community was blown away by the announced release of the Sega CD exclusive ' Heart of the Alien ' appearing on the Amiga as an incredible port known as ' Heart Of The Alien Redux Amiga V1.0. The sequel to the amazing 1991 Delphine Software ' Another World ', but instead was developed by Interplay Entertainment. Was fully ported over with everything intact, including cutscenes, gameplay, sound and even music. But yet there was another system it wasn't ported to and that was the Amiga CD32, which today thankfully has actually appeared as a beta optimized release by the hard work of DJM and sharing of Earok.

Amiga classic First Samurai gets a modern remake and Kickstarter campaign

One of the best regarded games on the Amiga (and other platforms both 8 and 16 bit) in the early 90's was First Samurai. Both technically brilliant, and challenging but fun to play, it was probably the high point of Mev Dinc's Vivid Image Design studio. Loved by many, no-one who played it will forget the "Hallelujah" sample played when encountering a healthy bonus. Now Mev and Raff Cecco are back, with the first of several intended new games for Pixel Age studio and a remake of First Samurai.

FS-UAE 2.8.1 - An Amiga Emulator with a great GUI gets a new final build!

This GUI also features the drool worthy Open Amiga Game Database and FS-UAE Arcade! No wonder Gamesnostalgia use FS-UAE in all their game packs, this really is that good.

Heart Of The Alien Redux Amiga v1.0 - Amazing news as Another World sequel gets an Amiga port!

In 1991 Delphine Software released the cult classic platformer Another World for the Amiga and Atari ST, it was and still is a game that has lived on in the hearts of many, as it had incredible cinematic effects for its time in both the graphics, sound and cut scenes. Basically one of the best retro games on the Amiga. Yet sadly the sequel ' Heart of the Alien ', developed by Interplay Entertainment was only released exclusively for the Sega CD in 1994 and Amiga gamers were left out in the cold, at least until now! Welcome to the ' Heart Of The Alien Redux Amiga v1.0 ', a SEGA CD to Amiga port, which was released just this week.

WARP - Thalion's Amiga Shooter cracked with a trainer by Flashtro

I'm sure many of you have a huge stash of Amiga hardware and games, more especially taking up space on a big internal CF drive (ahem 4GB+). So you might be pleased to learn that Thalion Software's 1989 multi-directional shooter called ' WARP', was recently cracked with a trainer by our good friends Flashtro. Although not the best of Thalion's games, it does feature lots of action filled landscapes and warp tunnels as you try to destroy energy stations.
