Super Xevious 1200 - In dev Arcade game for the Commodore Amiga 1200 via JOTD gets a super update!

It was only just the other day that we featured JOTD's Arcade to Amiga conversion of Xevious : A game that was originally released in the Arcades by Namco's and then ported to other home computers. Well fast forward to today and do we have an interesting update for all you fine folk, as JOTD has announced that his Arcade to Amiga conversion now includes Super Xevious : a game that was originally released back in 1984 by Namco as a response to the overwhelming success of the original in Japan.

DOUBLE DRAGON 128K - A 2023 Edition with Amstrad CPC, MSX & C64 AY music and more!

If you ask someone what they thought of Double Dragon, they'd probably tell you of an awesome Arcade beat em up released in 1987, that gave you the option to play two twin martial artists who could kick, punch and throw enemies off scene through many different levels. Well if you had this game back in the day, more especially the ZX Spectrum, then as of today you can download 'DOUBLE DRAGON 128K': A 2023 Edition with changes implemented such as Amstrad CPC, MSX & C64 AY music!

Space Station 23 - A rather cool Commodore 64 game released by Vector5 Games

We've had some pretty decent games lately, from the more recent Xevious 1200 on the Commodore Amiga, to Super Bomberman 2 Remix on the ZX Spectrum and Rambler on the C64. Tiki Project - A Commodore 64 nod to The New Zealand Story by Robert Wilson is in development!

We've just received another great update in our inbox, especially for Commodore 64 gamers across the globe. As if you're looking for another HOT news story for the C64, then we have just been told Robert Wilson is working on a brand new game called Tiki Project(Name may change); A re-imagining of the Tiki character from The New Zealand Story in an upcoming C64 game. In light of this news, the creator has also shown some very early footage of the game below.

Goldorak Versus - A new 2 player demo by Zisquier for the Amstrad GX4000

Amstrad GX4000 owners might like this latest news story that's just been sent to us by XeNoMoRPH, as if you're looking for a new Shoot em up to play, then Zisquier has you covered with his brand new Amstrad GX4000 demo called 'Goldorak Versus'; a 2 player demo which is a nod to the classic anime of Grendizer; a TV anime series produced by Dynamic Productions and animated by Toei Animation airing October 5, 1975 to February 27,1977. Lunar Rescue RX - An entire game will be coded live in assembly for the ZX Spectrum by Allan Turvey!

Allan Turvey aka Highrise is certainly no stranger to Indie Retro News, releasing fabulous games for the ZX Spectrum such as Terrapins RX, Roust, Snowed Under and even InvAGDers Deluxe. Well this name is going to be mentioned once more on the website, as he has informed us that he is converting the Taito classic Lunar Rescue in assembly from scratch for the ZX Spectrum. Although he does state unlike other games, every moment that is spent working on the game will be live on Twitch - warts and all, every mistake and every triumph!

Gnome Ranger & Time And Magik - Adventure classics by Level 9 available for the Plus/4 as a conversion by Csabo and Pigmy

Something slightly different for today's retro heads up to begin the week. As we've recently found out through the Plus/4 World website, that Csabo together with Pigmy have converted the classic text based adventure games of Gnome Ranger and Time and Magik over to the Commodore Plus/4. As in the words of the site " It's time to convert Gnome Ranger! This Level 9 adventure is now available for Plus/4. Also Time And Magik". 

Adidas Championship Football by Ocean Software - A rare Amiga Footy game appears via Scoopex!

I am generally not a fan of anything that is Football either as a game or on the TV, pretty much the only game I have ever enjoyed was the classic game of Sensible Soccer on the Commodore Amiga. Still there is one game that is worth a mention even if it is Football related, and that's the latest Scoopex release of Adidas Championship Football by Ocean Software; A very rare game that was originally released back in the 90's for the Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC and ZX Spectrum.

Amiga owners and Commodore owners alike, have we got the event for you! As Fusion Retro Events which is a part of Fusion Retro Books, will be celebrating all that is retro in their own special way! As in the words of the announced event organizers, "South West Amiga Group and Retro Computer Museum. The ZZAP! Live event will cover each an every Commodore system including the Amiga family. The event will be held on the 12th August at The Holiday Inn, Kenilworth, CV8 1ED.". 

Cracky - Another game release by Inufuto for the Amstrad CPC/C64/Plus4/ZX Spectrum and many more!

The retrogames just keep on coming, as thanks to another heads up earlier today from our good friend Saberman, he has told us that Inufuto has released a brand new game for systems such as the Amstrad, C64, Plus4 and ZX Spectrum called 'Cracky'. Planet B - A 16bit procedural roguelike rpg for the Sega Mega Drive that might be worth keeping an eye on!

Rick Dangerous - A platforming classic as a remastered edition for the Amiga 1200/CD32!

If you remember playing the late 80's game of 'Rick Dangerous'; a very challenging platformer that made you feel like an Indiana Jones character traversing dangerous locations such as caves and temples while avoiding the bad guys and deadly boulders and spiked traps, then you might like this latest news story sent to us by Per Ola Eriksson. As he was kind enough to inform us earlier today, that the graphically overhauled version of Rick Dangerous by The Z-Team, has just been updated with a kick ass release for 2023!

Renegade Reloaded - A classic beat em up for the Amstrad CPC now features scrolling!

In 1988 Ocean Software ( Imagine Label ) released a fine beat 'em up for the Amstrad CPC, C64 and ZX Spectrum. It was a great title that had either single player or two player gameplay with you playing as street fighters known only as Renegade in a revenge against a kingpin named "Mr. Big" for murdering their brother. Well if you remember this fine game from the 80's you'll be pleased to know that if you have an Amstrad CPC, you can play the newest of releases called 'Renegade Reloaded'; A new CPC version of the game which now features scrolling by Geco!
