SpiritSphere - Pong meets Zelda in this rather lovely Indie game

Earlier last week Eendhoorn released the competitive local multiplayer game ' SpiritSphere ' for the PC. It looks to have a number of inspirations from classic games such as Pong, Zelda and even Windjammers while mixing them up to create something rather unique and enjoyable to play. Featuring an 8-bit art style that sticks closely to the NES colour palette and a great soundtrack by Gas1312, you'll be battling it out in arenas set in a classic RPG world while picking up mighty power ups to help you or the person you are hoping to defeat.

Foggy's Quest to Narg and Back Again - John Blythe‎'s ZX Spectrum game is nearly here!

Usually it takes developers a number of weeks or months to get a ZX Spectrum game out in the wild, but it looks as if John Blythe's ' Foggy's Quest to Narg and Back Again ' is actually coming soon. Developed using the very popular software Adventure Game Designer, this game puts you in control of Foggy, who is on a quest to find the lost crystals stolen by the evil NARG's from his very own ship. If he can find them and get back to his ship, he can get away from this awful place for good!

8 Bit Civilizations Preview - Jaw dropping 8-bit demo remake of the classic CIV but on the C64!

For 25 years we've all been building empires to stand the test of time. Beginning on Amiga and PC in 1991, it's hard to believe we'd ever see the likes of this epic turn based 4X civ building game on anything less than 16 bits and at least a few hundred kilobytes of RAM. Teased early last year, the game has had a significant amount of work done since the early screenshots. Developer Fabian Hertel has released a fully playable demo for us all to enjoy and also help test by reporting bugs here.

CASTLE CAPERS - Save the Dream Fairies in Gabriele Amore's new ZX Spectrum game

Even more speccy news now, as after much teasing during the development stage, Gabriele Amore has finally released a brand new ZX Spectrum game called ' CASTLE CAPERS ' for playable on real hardware and online. Once again developed using AGD and again a platformer, you are on a mighty rescue mission to rescue the Dream Fairies who have been kidnapped by an evil mouse king and his menacing acolytes.

The gaming news just keeps on coming, as just moments ago @VizionGamer gave us the heads up of the English translation for the side scrolling action adventure game on the SNES ' 3x3 Eyes : Juuma Houkan '. Released only in Japan in the mid 90's and developed by Banpresto, this game is based on the 3×3 Eyes manga and OVA and puts you in control of Yakumo. You must travel around various parts of Hong Kong and other areas to prevent the resurrection of an evil beast!

Total Recall - Hot news as playable scrapped ZX Spectrum version released!

An amazing heads up by Ocean Software Ltd for the speccy as the scrapped ZX Spectrum version of ' Total Recall ' has once again seen the light of day and made playable. According to World of Spectrum this game was originally given to a programmer by the name of Paul Houbart, but progress was so bad even after the demo, the Christmas 1990 deadline would never be met and it was handed over to a new team to make a new Total Recall. This version which has just been released from the previously uncontrollable demo is now controllable thanks to Adrian Singh who hacked the code on the demo to enable the keyboard.

Raiden - Atari STe owners get ready for a wicked shooter update!

In 1990 and onwards the epic scrolling shooter game 'Raiden' by Seibu Kaihatsu, made its appearance on many different systems such as the Atari Falcon, Atari Jaguar, Atari Lynx, DOS(PC), PC Engine and even the PlayStation. In fact there was even a prototype of the game released as a demo on the Commodore Amiga, which sadly never appeared as a full release. But don't get your hopes up too much if you're an Amiga owner at least, as this time thanks to a heads up by AtariCrypt, this classic shooter is being developed for the AtariSTE!

Pong Clone 2017 Preview 2 - Pong into the year 2017 on the C64 with an update

In the 1970's Bushnell and another guy called Alcorn released a Pong prototype at a local bar named Andy Capp's Tavern, yet it wasn't until 1975 and through a long history that Pong actually appeared in our homes, and on my very own Atari 2600. Yet fast forward to today in 2017 and here's another release by Genesis Project and development by Nielsf on the C64 'Pong' Aka 'Pong Clone 2017 preview version 2'.

Bomberman Cx - Play as Black Bomberman and more in this great NES hack!

When I was growing up there was a game I used to love playing with friends, whereby your task was to drop bombs and either blow up other enemies or your very best friend(s) in a maze like game screen. That game was Bomberman also known as Dynablaster, which was actually first released way back in 1983 by Hudson Soft and then published by Konami. It was and still is a fantastic game that can still be played to this day on many different systems and as different versions/sequels. In fact the reason we are mentioning the game today is for the release of ' Bomberman Cx ', which is a rather decent hack of Bomberman on the NES!
