The Threat: The Secret Agenda What the Aliens Really Want and How They Plan to Get It

Rate this book
After half a century of widespread speculation about UFOs and abductions by aliens, a distinguished historian reveals why aliens have come, and exposes their frightening plans for planet Earth. It is a disturbing picture of aliens integrating themselves into our society and relegating humans to an inferior status. The result of three decades of research, this book answers some of the most important questions researchers have been asking since the beginning of the UFO controversy. Professor Jacobs provides, for the first time, new details about the aliens' "breeding program" -- a bold plan to create a breed of alien-human "hybrids" who will eventually colonize, and ultimately control the Earth.

A direct, authoritative challenge to researchers such as John Mack, who believe the abduction phenomenon is essentially benevolent and spiritually uplifting, The Threat adds complexity and depth to our knowledge of this fascinating subject. The secret alien agenda revealed in this book is ominous, and Professor Jacobs warns that it must be confronted -- before it is too late.

UPDATE
One would easily be led to conclude from Jacobs book that the abduction/alien phenomenon is a contemporary thing. Take a look at this Egyptian mummy and then reappraise things up,... temporally*.

"We have been invaded. It is not an occupation but it is an invasion. At present we can do little or nothing to stop it.”

David Jacobs in Secret Life: Firsthand Accounts of UFO Abductions (1992)

“It is disturbing that the aliens and hybrids are primarily concerned with the Earth and not with human beings.”

David Jacobs in The Threat ...(1998)

In 2013, in Oxford, Doctor David Jacobs gave a conference on the theme “Psychology and Alien abduction”; starting with the recognition that he was not a psychologist (rather, a historian), he pondered at length on the limits of the methodology used to study the object at stake: alien abduction. To begin with hypnosis itself, he proceeded into the human psychological apparatus stating: “memory is inaccurate”, “memory is unreliable”, “people lie”, “people confabulate” (“make things up”) , “most US courts don’t accept testimony derived from hypnosis”, etc, etc….adding “the evidence is weak”.

At the top of the explanations for the phenomenon he put psychologists “reasonable explanations” (1): childhood sexual abuse; and then the list continued: (2) sleep paralysis; (3) popular cultural osmosis; (4) hypnotic suggestion; and so on.

This book is a methodology-at-stake still, an abundant collection (and discussion) of cases, but also a leap into the unknown: what are the real intentions of the aliens? What are they up to?

Being a historian, Doctor Jacobs found himself doing a rather challenging task of seeing into the future: he called it “the uncomfortable position”, the future divination.

His points of departure are these facts: since 1975 the number of reports increased; the data gathered became huge. Nonetheless, certain conclusions were apparent: “the contact has already occurred-…on Alien’s term and in secret”; “the UFO’s behaved as if they wanted to keep their distance from us”.

In a brief historical perspective we had: 1957 Antonio Villas Boas case in Brazil; the fishing-men case of Pascagoula in 1973; the Travis Walton 1975 case…; but maybe most puzzling for Jacobs, was his interview with Betty Hill (1961 abduction) in 1976 and her revelation (kept secret that far) that the aliens had collected semen from her husband Barney.

(Walton case)

Still relevant: in 1993 UFO researcher Karla Turner had called the attention to the fact that some abductees were claiming about the role of the American military in cooperation with the aliens, in the abduction. Budd Hopkins had already pointed the interest of the aliens in the reproductive area; and more recently “they were pairing young abductees for long term relationships”.

Doctor Jacobs was for some time a reluctant Ufologist as to the use of hypnosis. It was his contact with Budd Hopkins (and Hynek) that made him learn and apply the technique. “Anybody can do it”; trouble begins when “asking the right questions at the right time”. He performed his first hypnotic regression in 1986. By 1992 he had performed more than 300.

And now the curious data he collected; out of 700 abduction cases:

-150, involved egg-taking procedures

-400, physical examinations

-375, mind scans

-180, baby and toddler contact.

Jacobs points to the Hopkins data and his own: the aliens were “ova harvesting” and doing “fetal extraction”. They were really engaged in a “Breeding program”; their agenda. Setting “extra uterine gestational units”, justified the collection of sperm and egg; truly, the production of “hybrids”.

That’s the “threat”, you may wonder.

Along with Bud Hopkins, Professor Jacobs is a prime exponent of the hypothesis that extraterrestrials have been conducting breeding operations with abducted humans with the intention of creating hybrids capable of existing on, and ultimately controlling, Earth. Their work relies heavily on information obtained by hypnosis and, occasionally, holotropic breath work, both means of obtaining altered states of consciousness. While many, if not most, of his subjects come to him prompted by troubling recollections, these 'normal' memories are often exposed as cover memories of much more troubling (for Jacobs at least) experiences.

Having regard for material obtained in altered states, I am suspicious of such material being simply aligned with the facts of quotidian, communal existence. Although Jacobs goes to great lengths to differentiate his technique from that of inferior hypnotists, several of whom, such as Harvard psychiatrist John Mack, he cites as mistakenly believing the aliens to have benign intent, I remain unconvinced--unconvinced that aliens are abducting humans in this space-time continuum at all. I do, however, entertain notions of other 'dimensions', such as the Jungians' 'psychoid' or such as described in the Strassman studies of DMT or in Terence McKenna's theorizing, in which such events occur, existentially speaking. This is simply to say that such hypotheses should, if possible, be scientifically tested.

Further, given what we know about genetics, it's quite a stretch to believe that there might be an extraterrestrial species capable of productively mating with homo sapiens.

Further still, following Jacques Vallee on this, it seems absurd to think that a species technologically far in advance of ours would have to use the primitive methods reported in this book. If, as Jacobs believes, they want this planet, surely there would be easier ways to wrest it from us and/or to cause environmental changes suited to their needs. So, too, wouldn't there be easier ways for an advanced civilization to deal with their infertility problems than a multigenerational rape-and-mate hybridization program with inferior hominids?

This author sounds very credible and has used hypnosis to interrogate abductees. His research hypothesizes that the abductions are real, they are breeding with humans and creating a hybridized race to take over the Earth after “The Change”. It sounds far fetched and totally unbelievable... but if only one of these abduction stories is true then... hooooly shit.

Alien Agenda angst.

Wonderful research from an honest and skillful investigator! Terrific groundwork that paints a fascinating picture of what intelligent forces may quite possibly be operating around us. One of the latest theories put forth is that the Grays are actually trying to prepare us for countering a serious threat from a taller race of cruel insectisoid aliens, that even the highly evolved grays can't contain. Word is that our entire fleet of anti gravity craft have vanished and our government black ops program is in disarray. Plus the grays are perplexed because our government supposedly has betrayed them. One thing is true irregardless. We must continue to adapt or perish either from internal strife or outside forces.

thoroughly enjoyed the book. u have to get to know the alien subject before u jump straight into reading this book. cos he goes far out with his conclusions what he thinks. but I love it how he makes it clear its not all made up by hoaxes and the hypnotists aren't planting the ideas into there patients head, tells how u can avoid this. very good insight into the subject would warn you though by the end of it all...... your guna find it hard to sleep!! and even harder to take it all in. not for the narrowminded skeptics. best to come to what u think and not to take the writers words as FACT!!

The book is about ETs gynecological lab and their breeding program between ETs and abductees, and abductees with abductees. Jacobs speculates that their agenda for such experiments is to populate Earth with Hybrids, or replace humanity with this upgraded advanced species.

But is this secret agenda really a Threat?
Lets see...
who is destroying the forest? polluting waters?disrupting weather?poisoning foods? causing wars? bask in the glory of religion stupidity and sheep mentality? takes pride in ignorance and rather have money?
Is violent, aggressive, immature, childish, greedy, selfish, follows propaganda, lacks critical thinking, mocks spirituality and the realm of metaphysics, lies, steals, cheats, kills, back stabs, abuses children, adults, animals, trees, environment, and etc.
Aliens? or Humans?

I'm all for the ETs to REPLACE this vile civilization of humans with the Hybrids/ETs/etc...
This species is a Failure! They failed to be good to each other, let alone to reach spiritual ascension to join the Federation.
I gathered from this book that the ETs will take their favorites/starseeds off planet before they cleanse the rest of humanity. Then, populate the New Earth with hybrids and their favorites and starseeds. It's called upgrading the species.
I wonder if memories will be erased from their favorites/starseeds who lived on Earth before the coming golden age( supposedly). Here is a conversation between a hybrid and an abductee:

“Someday people who are like you will not have those memories either. They’ll be like me.” Like him meaning. And I’m saying, “What do you mean by that?” He’s saying, “Don’t you understand that?” I said no, or rather, I don’t say no, I just shake my head. And then again he tells me to listen. He says, “There will only be one purpose for you. You won’t have memories like you do now.”

There were a couple things that bothered me while reading the book.

1) I was disturbed to read girls between 6-12 or so were involved in forced sexual activities with hybrids without their free will. Ugh...
One case describes a girl being physically and sexually abused by a sadist hybrid.

2) Jacobs strongly criticizes and explains the weakness of John Macks hypnosis technique. That abductees may be reciting false memories, screen memories, or make stuff up. Although Jacobs has a very valid point, but his scolding was inappropriate and a bit disrespectful to his colleague who had the balls to investigate UFO abductee cases at the cost of being ridiculed by his stupid colleagues at Old Fart Harvard.

3) Some parts of the book were long and boring

Jacobs quickly goes after other researchers and attempts to invalidate their work, namely John Mack. BUT, Jacobs is guilty of the very thing he accuses them of only from a different corner. By page 55, he has already shown 3 times that he led his subjects into doubt of their experience with his skepticism. Yet, he accuses Mack of being too neutral, thus encouraging a subject to give false memories. Both approaches have obvious dangers, but I find that Mack's is less likely to lead a subject off track. Mack knew that even false memories have value in a sense and offer clues.

Jacobs also discards all details which are different from the typical abductee case. This is appropriate to some degree, but not wise in the absolute. It is more likely to paint an inaccurate picture by ignoring all these details. We have now gone into the realm of hearing only what fits a theory. Not good.....and a very basic scientific blunder!

The negative tone, narrow-mindedness, and attacks on his colleagues (already by page 50!) have inspired me into complete distrust of this man's work. Into the trash you go!

It sounds interesting, and it was recommended to me from a writer in Hawaii. I'm going to write erotic SF/alien abduction erotica for his new web site. I'm looking forward to starting this book. It's supposedly based on fact. A psychologist hypnotizes people who claims they have been abducted by aliens, and he reports on what they told him. I will use this book as a jumping point for my erotic paranormal/alien fiction.

UPDATE: I finished the book. It was a bit long-drawn-out, but I enjoyed it. The topic was completely outlandish, though. I don't believe in this stuff for a second, but at least the book was entertaining. If you can put logic and common sense aside, you might be able to enjoy it too.

The Threat is the most creative book I have ever read and my personal favorite. Regardless of how you feel about the subject, Jacobs, demonstrates a strong thesis and backs it up with loads of clear support. Simply Amazing Non-Fiction.

This is a clearly written and carefully argued work. It is serious. I'm not saying you should believe it. Jacobs studied accounts of people who claim to have been abducted by aliens and came to believe that aliens are trying to reproduce with humans in order to produce hybrids. He thinks the hybrids are gradually going to implements the Change, in which aliens produce a utopian society that may not include non-abductees. Jacobs argues with so-called positivists who claim that the aliens have benign intentions. He thinks that aliens are actually selfish and care only about the earth, not humanity. Jacobs documents alien society in meticulous detail using hypnosis on the abductees to gather a wealth of information. There is some controversy over whether information obtained under hypnosis is reliable. Some say that people under hypnosis are suggestible and can reconstruct memories based on leading questions by the hypnotist. I am sure that Jacobs would have an answer to this objection, however.

Eye-opening research and personal confirmations abounded while reading this book. I am grateful for researchers like Dr. Jacobs that are willing to stick to the facts and report them without any sugar coating nor personal conjecture.

Dr. Jacobs' writing style is perfect: it's like a decent red wine. It's just dry enough to be informative but not so dry as to be boring. The information within is arranged in a linear, easy to understand fashion covering each topic using examples both from his research and years of personal experience working with such great names as Budd Hopkins. He suggests what the big picture might be without preaching, allowing you to come to your own conclusion if you choose.

I have been recommending this book frequently since getting it, and I still recommend it. For those that truly want to know the truth, reading this book is a must.

Awesome and terrifying

Academic method to unravel the purpose of abduction events. David lets the reader form his own opinions based upon a strictly controlled and non-assumptive approach. He presents cases for optimism and dread.

Wow, this was a frightening and eye opening book. The author Dr. Jacobs had been researching the phenomenon of alien abductions for 30 years before the release of this book. His research included investigating over 700 hundred peoples’ claims of abductions. His investigations also included hypnosis. Dr. Jacobs is a Professor of history and a renowned expert in UFOs and the abductions. His theory based on his years of investigations is that the aliens are in the process of creating alien-human hybrids, and when they have the hybrids they want in sufficient numbers, they will take over the earth. This is one reason why they are concerned about the preservation of the earth. Many years ago, the original alien race had been genetically experimented on by a superior race, which resulted in the small greys who were incapable of reproducing. A search found that humans would be the most compatible for combining with the alien race as a way to save their race. The abductions all seem to have a sexual component, sperm taken from men and eggs taken from women. The eggs and sperm are combined and genetically altered with the addition of alien DNA. This is repeated through each generation of hybrid, each time the result becomes more and more human like while still retaining the extraordinary alien abilities and powers. Sounds like something out of a science fiction movie! But, it makes sense. All of the research that I have done lately points to it being factual that alien abductions are taking place, medical exams are being done, and during these exams sperm and eggs are being taken. This book got me so interested in this particular topic, that my next book was also authored by Dr. David Jacobs: Walking Among Us, The Alien Plan to Control Humanity.

This book really impressed me on so many levels. David did profound research, hypnotizing hundreds of abductees, and he goes on to explore the commonalities and differences in all those cases, and a very disturbing situation emerges, that genetic manipulation of the human race may have been at play for a few generations. David goes into detail about the modus operandi of the abductors and reveals many of their characteristics. To achieve that David goes in detail through the hypnosis process, in order to go beyond the screen memories that aliens leave on the abductees.
The possible problem with his research is some confirmation bias, David, a history teacher understands the situation as a colonization process, and cannot see it in different terms, he also cannot be convinced that this may be going on for thousands of years, and would not reconsider his position, so he is very dogmatic on his views, still he has a great amount of data to toy with. If you are even mildly interested in the UFO subject, read this book, it is very well written, with some incredible images and situations, but beware, it is very disturbing. Still, I don't think he got the whole picture, but it is an amazing contribution to the UFO lore.

Excellent research by Jacobs. Particularly because he is one of the foremost hypnotic regressionists in the abduction community. And his prognosis for the alien agenda is grave, indeed. If you are into aliens/abducation, this is the book you should read from Dr. Jacobs.

"The Threat" focuses on the Alien Agenda as well as the UFO Phenomenon. The book is written in a tone that may seem humorous to those who are not completely open to the idea of extraterrestrials living outside of our own planet.

The book was a good read, especially because of the many real stories and encounters given within the book and how the author (an experienced person in the field) places the individuals under hypnosis in order to get more vivid descriptions of each event.

The book is very solid and backed up by good evidence. Although it does carry its own weight properly, it may be hard to absorb for those who do not yet believe in extraterrestrials. Overall, it definitely expanded my horizon on extraterrestrial knowledge. I recommend it to anyone who is willing to know more about extraterrestrials, however, those who aren't yet sure if they exist should not read this book first, as it presumes that you already have a solid belief in extraterrestrials.

Well... that was creepy. At first, reading a previous book by this author, I thought he might be leading his hypnotees... and yet, they kept contradicting him, which I found puzzling, too. He went on in both the previous and this book to explain that, and it sounds reasonable to me. That he's only using content that is being repeated (confirmed?) from myriad abductees helps solidify the plausibility as well. To that end, his conclusions in THIS book are a little disturbing. I still think there is room for pure human-nature style paranoia (fearing the unknown), and one can hope. Still...

Read for an American folklore class at Penn. Terrifying book as you're reading it, terrifying book if you believe it, the thing is....I don't. But HE does. Professor Jacobs, at the time (I believe still?) a professor at Temple University, came to speak to my class. He honestly and truly believes that we are doomed.

It is a good read for those who enjoy The Mothman Prophecies etc. for those who are willing to suspend disbelief and read it as nonfiction, or those who are willing to read it as horror fiction.

This book was not what I expected. The author states that aliens are using humans for a breeding program. His evidence is based on testimony that he obtained from abductees. I think that something happened to those people but I just don't know about the breeding thing. I would have liked to read more about the physical evidence of abductions. The author mentioned it but didn't spend a lot of time on it.

Well written, very disturbing (I couldn't sleep properly for a month after finishing the book asking myself if this book can be true), but in the end I believe it is only a masterfully concocted fiction from beginning to end. Only future will tell if I am right or wrong. In principle, it is possible that this book is true, but in reality I don't think it is.
