Hi! I’m David! At about 12:35 P.M PST on Thursday, June 29th my Siamese, Susu, was found eating a lily that I didn’t think she could access.
I immediately rushed her to the emergency vet as every part of a lily is poisonous to cats, even the water they sit in. I wasn’t aware of the level of toxicity of the plant before, and have since tossed it.
The vet recommended at least a 2-night stay but up to 3-nights which will range from $2,500 - $3,500 in cost.
[UPDATE: 06/30, Susu was discharged from the clinic after 24 hours.]
During this time, Susu is being constantly monitored by a team of vets while hooked up to an IV to provide fluids. At this point she is going through a full detox from the plant. If after 2 days she shows positive signs, then she will be released.
Susu is a bit of a monster with a track record to show so, but she’s always kind and sweet and cuddly.
Unfortunately, this is a massive cost to bear unexpectedly and am reaching to source through my networks of folks to help alleviate the cost.
Anything you can provide is a helpful.
Thank you deeply from Susu + I.
