On July 10, Sofia Vergara joked that her “knees already hurt” as she celebrated her 51st birthday with a couple of Italian vacation selfies. Dressed in a breezy striped linen number, the actor and entrepreneur took a couple of romantic balcony snaps that feature some stunning views…and the oceanside background was nice too.

Per People, Vergara’s Spanish Instagram caption roughly translates to, “Waking up here on my 51st birthday! Still with health, dreams, energy, (my knees already hurt) but with a lot of joy to live! Thank you all for the messages!!”

Among those wishing Vergara a happy birthday include close friend Heidi Klum. “I love you Sofia ❤️ I am so lucky to have you in my life. Happy Birthday 🎁🎊🎂🎈🎉 ,” Klum replied to the post, while Vergara’s Modern Family costar Sarah Hyland commented, “HAAAAAAAA….”

Later in the day Vergara followed up the post with more holiday pics, wearing a lacy white asymmetrical one-piece bathing suit with matching linen pants. With it coming just one day after sharing a photo in a neon green one-piece swimsuit, it seems the beach queen is in full support of One-Piece Summer 2023.

Before stepping out into the Italian sun, you better believe Sofia Vergara took steps to protect her skin. Just ahead of her 51st birthday, Vergara launched her SPF-forward beauty line, Toti, named after the nickname she was given as a child by her older brother. “I grew up in very tropical weather in Barranquilla, Colombia, and there was no one ever telling you, ‘Don’t get sunburn’ or ‘Don’t tan,’” she told Harper’s Bazaar. “I wish I had made that decision sooner also for the rest of my body, but I didn’t. I just thought to save my face, and that was it. So I haven’t had my face in the sun without protection since the ’90s.”
