Zooey Deschanel's calender is FULL on Feb. 11 because she'll be hosting Saturday Night Live--and I guess that means I have plans as well now too.
"So excited to see our co-founder @ZooeyDeschanel host Saturday Night Live Feb 11th!" her Website, HelloGiggles.com tweeted today. "It's always been her dream!" Zooey then posted her own message: "I'm so excited."
The musical guest will be Karmin, who, if you haven't heard of already, read this post from Caitlin immediately. (She's obsessed.)
I would also like to special order an appearance by Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Remember how cute their "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve" duet was? Well, since then we've been trying to fix them up, if they aren't quietly working on it themselves. (We wish...she says they're friends.) Anyway, I think he should be a surprise guest and they should sing a love song for Valentine's Day. "Love Me Tender"? "Help Me Make It Through the Night"? Or: "Suzy, You're Totally Insane"?
On another note, Zooey will be finding love on-screen in New Girl. It was announced today that Dermot Mulroney has been cast as a love interest for Jess on the Fox series. He will be on for multiple episodes and he plays the father of one of her students. They don't get along at first then, well, you know how that goes...
As another one of my Obsessedies, Megan Angelo, said: "Dermot is like a fine wine" and it's true. Remember when he costarred with Julia Roberts in My Best Friend's Wedding? Well, I fell madly in love with him...and it's only grown stronger since. So I can't wait to see what kind of chemistry comes from being matched with Zooey.
