ALD carmarket marks 50,000th used car auctioned online in Germany

ALD carmarket, the online auction platform of leasing and fleet management company ALD Automotive, is celebrating a milestone in Germany: more than 50,000 used vehicles sold since it started operations on 23 October 2009.

Just over seven years ago, ALD carmarket was the first online auction site for high-quality end-lease vehicles. This 17 November – and 1,386 auctions later – the site reached the 50,000-unit mark.

"ALD carmarket currently has a turnover of more than 10,000 vehicles per annum, and in 2015 alone we registered more than 315,000 bids. This shows we are a reliable partner for dealers. They can find all brands at attractive prices, and appreciate the assurance we offer by publishing the full DEKRA report for each car", says Michael Leder, Remarketing Director at ALD Automotive Germany. 

ALD carmarket is successful beyond Germany's borders as well: since its launch in France back in 2008, the auction website has expanded its activities to a total of 20 countries. In all, more than 350,000 have been sold worldwide via the platform, with the total of bids exceeding 4.7 million. By the beginning of next year, ALD carmarket will have expanded its activities to China and the Baltic states.
