Tom Selleck nearly unrecognisable without trademark moustache in rare public appearance
Magnum P.I. and Blue Bloods star Tom Selleck looked worlds away from the slick onscreen characters audiences know him for.
Hollywood star Tom Selleck recently broke cover on a public outing in L.A.
The Magnum P.I. star, 78, was almost unrecognizable as he ditched his trademark handlebar moustache for scruffier facial hair.
Along with a moustache, Tom was also sporting a full beard, while his salt and pepper locks were in a side parting.
The actor kept it casual with a navy T-shirt and black shorts as he headed to a takeaway joint.
Tom was spotted going through a McDonald’s drive-thru and walking out and about in the San Fernando Valley as he ran errands in his pick-up truck.

At one point, Tom sat in his car in between his various tasks and seemed contemplative.
The photos come as Tom’s hit series Blue Bloods is currently on hiatus due to the SAG-AFTRA strikes, which have brought many productions to a halt.
However, with the recent WGA strike agreement, there is hope there could be something similar for actors although the most recent deal was rejected.
Tom hasn’t been seen in almost a year with the photos being taken last month.

The star is best known for his roles as the titular detective in Magnum P.I. and the Hollywood movies Three Men and a Baby (1987) and its sequel Three Men and a Little Lady (1990).
Some of his other roles include Quigley Down Under, Mr. Baseball, and Lassiter.
Tom had a recurring role in the hit 1990s sitcom Friends as the older boyfriend to Courtney Cox’s Monica Gellar.
He has found a new legion of fans in recent years thanks to his role as New York City Police Commissioner and patriarch Frank Reagan in Blue Bloods, which has been airing since 2010 after he recently celebrated a milestone.

Away from the screen, this year marks Tom’s 36th wedding anniversary to wife and fellow actress Jillie Mack.
Earlier this year, Tom admitted how he was still “infatuated” with Jillie after three decades together and said he was initially too scared to ask her out.
The couple exchanged vows in 1987 and have one daughter Hannah with Tom also having son Kevin from his first marriage to Jacqueline Ray.
Tom is also reportedly writing a memoir with Page Six reporting back in 2019 the star would be sharing details of his life both on and off-screen, however, there’s been no update since then.
