During their recent showcase, Sony announced a brand-new PlayStation device. This is a new piece of hardware that is a portable cloud-streaming device. It would primarily be used to stream PlayStation 5 games through the internet. This kind of functionality severely reduces the functionality of this console, and that’s why many are not very enthusiastic about it.
One big plus point about it is that it would come with a portable version of the DualSense controller. Yes, those immersive features would be available for gamers to experience where they wish to experience them. But all this would come at a big cost.

Limited connectivity, input lag, blurry visuals, and slow connections are just a few of the problems people face when using such devices. Usually, many prefer cloud streaming as a secondary thing, just like Microsoft’s GamePass cloud streaming service. It’s not something people especially pay for; it just comes free with Game Pass.
But PlayStation Q would be a premium purchase. And when something people pay a premium price for fails, it hurts a lot more than when an add-on fails to work as intended. And now YouTuber YongYea suggests that this device might come with one glaring issue: a very short battery life.

Reportedly this device has a very short battery backup. It appears gamers have gotten yet another reason not to pick up this device. If one has to guess, this short battery backup might be the result of that portable DualSense.
It’s pretty common knowledge that the original DualSense itself does not have a very good battery backup. Features like that unique rumble and resistive triggers really take a toll on the battery of that controller. One can only imagine how much power an added display would consume.
