Emma Goffard and Candy Confidential Win APHA Gold in HUS, WP and Performance Halter

When the Youth Hunter Under Saddle 18 & Under, a class of 30, was complete on Wednesday, June 28th at the 2023 APHA World Championship Show, Emma Goffard and Candy Confidential won the top spot!

Together for their division at the show, they also won Western Pleasure and Performance Halter Geldings.

When we asked Emma how this is possible in today’s day and age of specialization of horses, she says it has a great deal to do with the heart and desire belonging to “Finn.”

“I am really grateful he can do everything, but honestly we wouldn’t be able to do it without his drive and desire to show,” she says.  “That’s something that makes him quite special; he honestly really enjoys to be out in the ring.”

Emma adds that for different events there are various things she does to prepare him for the individual events, and those cues are very important to get him ready for each.  However, it’s Finn’s love to show overall that keeps them progressing and winning in a variety of events.
