Farnell has signed a new global distribution agreement with YageoFarnell Yageo has signed a new global distribution agreement with Farnell Yageo, extending the existing relationship to give customers access to the full range of products. Yageo manufactures chip resistors and is a leading supplier of Multilayer Ceramic Capacitors (MLCC).

Simon Meadmore, Global Head of IP&E at Farnell, says: "The products from Yageo, one of the world's largest resistor and capacitor manufacturers, further enhance our extensive portfolio of passive components, giving our customers easier access to quality products. With warehouses in the UK, Europe, North America and the Asia-Pacific region, customers can rely on Farnell to supply the components they need, and this is another example of our commitment to providing customer choice and ensuring the availability of key brands through our global distribution network."

Yageo passive components available from Farnell will support designers and maintenance engineers in a variety of markets:

  • Automotiveand Transportation - Yageo's automotive-qualified MLCC and R Chip components are ideally suited to the needs of the automotive environment, which requires highly reliable passive components that can operate in humid conditions and tight spaces without sacrificing power dissipation. Yageo's range of solutions supports established systems such as engine control and power steering, as well as relatively new systems including car-to-car communications and autoparking. In addition to resistors and capacitors, Yageo's ceramic patch/chip antennas and PCB antennas provide wireless connectivity to infotainment and telematics systems to enrich driver experiences and improve safety while driving.
  • Telecommunications - Yageo's comprehensive range of resistors, capacitors, varistors and wireless components meets the relentless demand for miniaturization while offering a wide range of resistors with low TCR and tight tolerance. The multilayer chip varistors are designed to protect the increasingly sensitive semiconductors in portable devices from transient voltages, the alternative choice to suppressor diodes. The range also includes a portfolio of wireless antennas and filters, enabling unhindered access to smart communication standards without sacrificing performance.
  • Industrial and smart manufacturing - Yageo's comprehensive range of products for industrial applications meets power requirements with higher efficiency, lower cost and smaller footprint. R-Chips and MLCCs are technically advanced, robust and highly reliable, with long-term performance and stability characteristics that make them ideal for smart factory automation and robotic design. All of Yageo's industrial product lines meet industrial RoHS and REACH compliance, while rigorous manufacturing and quality standards serve to ensure long product life before obsolescence.
  • Power and Energy - Yageo offers a range of passive components capable of operating in harsh, high-humidity environments, suitable for renewable and alternative energy systems, particularly in remote locations where maintenance is difficult and system downtime costly. The range includes high voltage capacitors (HV series), ideal for power inverters in wind and solar systems, to MLCCs with soft terminations (CS series) designed to prevent damage and cracks in the ceramic body under mechanical, thermal and vibratory stress.

Arthur Wang, Managing Director of Yageo in Europe, adds, "We are delighted to have Farnell as a high-service distributor to support Yageo's full range of products and will work closely with Farnell to provide customers with on-time delivery and the best possible service."
