I was introduced to Zildjian cymbals at nine years of age (I am now 59 years of age)and have since always included Zildjian instruments within my array of percussion brass. Having just completed piecing together and rebuilding a vintage twin 28" bass drum Ludwig kit (in faux Black Lizard; HOT to die for!), I realized a need for more overhead on the brass end of the frequency spectrum thus turned to E Bay for affordable availability in acquiring high end cymbals. When the ZBT 14" Zildjian materialized, I was quick on the uptake, placing a bid less very much hope I could win on the limited resources left available given the enormous expenditure I had incurred through out the course of completing the overall project. I was surprised to find myself the winning bidder at a fraction of the cost the market could bear. Some days later I received the item via U.S. mail. I was impressed by the improved alloy formulation Zildjian has perfected over the last half century of which produced a more complex timbre responding slightly crisper on impact than earlier formulations I was accustomed to. This latest addition to my work is most appreciated and demonstrates how an ancient family tradition evolves within an industry all about exceeding it's own precedence in excellence. Purchased a Ludwig drum kit three years ago for my son. It came with very cheap cymbals. Was in need of Hi-Hats to replace the trashed set that came with the kit. Had been looking online through outlet stores and major retailers. Found the used Zildjian ZBT 14" Hi-Hat. They arrived today and now I hear clear and clean noise coming from my son's room. They are solid cymbals well made. Even used they sound great. My son can't keep the smile off his face now.
