It definitely takes some time to get used to the controls. After that, it's a pleasure to play this game. The way the Wii allows you to pass the ball on the field is like no other...The only downside is playing defense. I've played this game for quite a while and still can't figure out how to slide tackle an opponent. Playing defense takes a lot of patience and is ultimately frustrating in this game. But I'm sure this title will only get better in the future. It's a lot of fun to play. A great title made specifically for the Wii that will not disappoint soccer fans. Definitely worth buying over EA's Fifa 2008 which is a complete disappointment on the Wii.
This is not your conventional Futbol(soccer) game. Even when you play in your PC or a Playstation, you can choose an easy level and it will be relatively simple to start playing. Here you need to take training and it takes a lot longer to start playing the game. HOWVER! Once you start playing (3rd or 4th match), you will find it is the BEST VIDEO GAME in its category. The fact that you can point the player or place where you want the ball to go to makes life a lot easier. You are only relying on the human error rather than the arrows in a PS or Xbox controller. It is the same story for when you are in defence. If I had to point out negatives... the graphics of the players and the game are amazing, however, the graphics of the crowd and the stadium itself is not great at all. I highly recomend this game... On my Wii I play 4 games: Wii Sports, Wii Play, Mario Party and PES... PES I play every day... the rest, on rare ocations.Read full review
- Great gameplay action; can really use true soccer knowledge - Really uses the Wii controls well; training mode helps you pick up controls quickly - Menus and other non-game screens look like Nintendo 64 or worse - Champions Road feature is fun, but unrealistic - Wish it had real EPL teams
This is one of the best sports titles for the Wii. It's programmed so that you can use the controller to send multiple players on off-ball runs to specified areas, while still controlling the man with the ball, and passing to one of the sent players. The control takes some time to get used to, but the pace of the game itself in "season" mode enables one to get used to it and learn progressively, rather than having everything thrown at you at once.
Great game, for soccer lover's!!! "The world’s most popular soccer game is back under a new name, Pro Evolution Soccer 2008. Formerly Winning Eleven, PES 2008 builds upon the competitive spirit embodied by its predecessor with some major improvements. PES gamers will discover a more immersive, vivid soccer experience than they’ve ever played! Hot-shots will have plenty of new moves to show-up their opponents, or get shown-up so tape those ankles!"
