Do not hand my daughter your cell phone. She is prone to dropping, throwing and even stomping on phones. Please note the S3 is NOT completely or in any way waterproof or microwave-proof. Well, are YOU going to tell your sixteen year old she doesn't get a phone while she is using the loaner flip phone becuse hers is toast? The S3/Powermat combo is the fix. The s3 is a really decent phone that can do most (but not all such as IR blast the audio system) things a kid wants. Put a screen protector on it and wrap it in the Powermat cover and you are GOOD 2 GO for $100! When I got the last pair (well they are not totally indestructible) the screens had been replaced. That means what YOU have to do it you don't have to scrape and air blow that old screen off for three hours. Slide it off ... Do not hand my daughter your cell phone. Why do you want a 600-700 phone when this workhouse will do it for 100? The S3 does so rock!

Horrible Quality
The phone came in a timely manner which was nice because I shattered the screen on my previous phone. I used the phone for about a week and found a different one I liked more. So, I gave the S III to my daughter and she used for about a month and the screen went out. I contacted him and he told me we could replace it, but after I got his email the phone came back and had no problems so a couple weeks later shortly after the 30 day return the phone screen totally went out and he said he would not help me. Now she has no phone and no replacement and I am out 120 bucks......The phone came in a timely manner which was nice because I shattered the screen on my previous phone. A very good to excellent phone with an almost pro grade camera.
Im very happy with this phone overall. The sound quality is great with the one touch call volume boost being a handy feature. The camera, although a bit overly technical in options is excellent. I prefer it to the one in the Iphone 4s. The battery life should in my opinion be much better though. I've had to purchase a standby battery pack since the phone rarely goes more than 10 hours without needing a total re-charge.. this goes for constant use or simply leaving it on standby. The Power Saver feature does help with this somewhat. Its an amazingly light phone and even for its size, not noticeable when its in my pants pocket. The built in app killer is pretty decent, as is the voice command mode, however I seldom use the voice command mode due the the lag time in initial response, Siri, on ... This phone is great unless you do a lot of streaming because the battery will only last about half of a day. Other than that I LOVE this phone. The volume is quirky. If you hit the side up/down buttons it sometimes goes up or down (kind of moves up/down then goes back to the original spot on the slide bar but most of the time I just use the slide bar. The voice command has a mind of its own. Most of the time it works perfectly and then other times (not too often) it will respond with something like cannot contact Google at this time. Hopefully the Jellybean update this month will correct the volume and voice issues. The one thing I am upset about is that this phone is advertised as having FM radio reception! Other than that the phone is fast, no lock ups and dependable. I swore one day I would never buy another Samsung phone after having the Samsung Moment (first gen Android) but Samsung won me back. OH GET a case! This phone is so slick if you don't have a case, you WILL drop it sooner or later!

I'd invest in a Samsung Galaxy 3 phone but I would buy a back up battery.
I find the Samsung Galaxy to be a fantastic phone. I appreciate the size of the screen. It has many fantastic features that I'm able to access easily. However, the battery life could use some improvement.
