About this product

Product Information

Soccer fans can play along with their favorite international stars in this interactive adaptation of the 64-match, 2006 FIFA World Cup tournament held in Germany between June and July. Using an enhanced version of the graphics engine featured in 2005's FIFA Soccer 06, the game includes 125 national teams and all-new modes of play. The main mode focuses on qualifying and advancing through World Cup competition in the country's 12 official stadiums, while Global Challenge lets players re-create 40 historic moments from past World Cup tournaments.

The game also introduces a context-sensitive shooting system that takes into account multiple variables, including the athlete's shooting ability, the amount of defensive pressure, and his proximity to the goal. Animations for players on the pitch have been expanded, with signature-style moves for nearly 100 top-ranked superstars, from Claudio Reyna to Frank Lampard to Xavi. Throughout each mode, players have the chance to unlock rewards such as legendary athletes and licensed apparel for use in multiplayer games. Xbox Live support is included for head-to-head matches against players from around the world.

  • This is a very good soccer game and a must buy

Soccer games have always been fun. The first soccer game for the XBOX 360, FIFA 2006: Road to the World Cup, ended the streak of great soccer games because it lacked many features and it felt like it needed another couple of months to be created. EA expanded on that game, this time focusing on the actual World Cup itself, and made a very entertaining and interesting game. When I first bought this game, the first thing I noticed was the store. You can buy new uniforms, soccer balls, legendary players, or cheats. To earn these points, you have to complete different types of objectives and challenges. The challenges are scenario's; and some are easy while others are difficult. They should keep you busy for a while, and at the end when you complete all of them you earn an achievement of 500 ...

  • A good fun game of soccer.

FIFA World Cup is a good game with a few draw backs. The graphics are above average, but could have been a little better. I havent noticed any slow downs yet, which is a step up from the 2002 version. The sounds are good, they arent memorable but arent annoying. The gameplay is good but I feel leaves a lot to be desired. Possession can be a little hard at times, and stealing the ball even harder. The game is not hard to win a basic game but it can be annoying. There, as there is in all sports games, little glitches you can take advantage of that make the game really easy. Of course you do not have to use them but it just takes a little fun away. There is a lot to do in this game for being a sports game. The achievements take some work to get the complete scenarios one, but theyre ...

  • good game

This game has a really good presentation, its good at the beginning but after the first couple of times youll just skip it.the gameplay is alright except for a small glitch that every time you try a through ball it almost never reaches your player.it either gets stolen or goes out of bounds, the other bad thing i found was that on xbox live the game lags a lot,and this will interfier with your shot timing, which is critical when your in the heat of a match.also the free kicks are impossible,at least for me and everyone else i played with.the nice feature is that it has a lot more things to do unlike fifa rtwc, but overall i would give this game 4 out of 5

  • fifa 2006 world cup (futbal) soccer Xbox 360

i bought it because my wife is Brazilian (huge futbal fan) and i thought i might get her interested in the x-360. what i didn't know, is you could play soccer for real, while drunk, and balancing your check book, and performing brain surgery on someone, all at the same time; and you would expend less effort and achieve more than when you are playing this game. unless you have been playing these types of games since, BIRTH !!! don't buy one in your thirty's and think you can play. graphics are awesome, gameplay is very realistic (i'm sure), but control of the characters SUCKS!!!!! and the controller has ten buttons, two joysticks, and a d-pad. but they make you use the same buttons, to do different things! depending on who has possession of the ball. very confusing, because possession ...

  • 2006 FIFA World Cup

A little over five weeks from now, the 2006 FIFA World Cup will kick off in Munich when the tournament's German hosts take on Costa Rica. Recent player injuries are already providing plenty of pre-tournament drama, but if you really want to get your experience under way a month ahead of time, you can claim the FIFA World Cup Trophy for your country in EA Sports' 2006 FIFA World Cup. EA Canada's latest football offering does a good job of re-creating the carnival atmosphere that surrounds every World Cup competition, and although the Xbox 360 game still lacks some of the best features from its PlayStation 2 and Xbox counterparts, it's a much easier game to recommend than last year's FIFA 06: Road to FIFA World Cup. Gameplay options in 2006 FIFA World Cup include quick matches, online play, ...
