David A. Freer

David A. Freer, age 74, of Schererville, IN, passed away at home on September 18, 2023. He shared 36 wonderful years with his beloved wife, Karen Lambert. David was a retired television production engineer/cameraman who was devoted to his wife and his love of his cat family. He is survived by his wife; brother, Dick Freer; his sisters- and brothers-in-law, Sheri (Scott) Bellar, Tami (Joseph) Walters, Joanne Freer, Michael (Bonnie) Lambert, and Thomas Lambert. And very proud of and grateful for sharing his life and love with his nieces and nephews, Cordilia, Stephany (Mike and sons Emmett and Cashton) and Connor Bellar (daughters and son of Sheri), Alexzondria and Drake Walters (daughter and son of Tami), Johanna “Jenny” (Adam) Starr (daughter of Michael), and Elijah Lambert (son of Thomas). And will be sorely missed by his loving cat, Molly. David is preceded in death by his father, Clarence “Shorty” Freer; mother, Betty Freer; brother, Ken Freer; brother Dick’s partner, Mike Crane; and Tony Lambert (son of Thomas); as well as his loving cat family, Wicket, Lily, Oliver, Beau, and Hamilton Thomas. Private services will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307.
