Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast is a free-to-play RPG based around Iron Maiden myth - which is the stuff on their album covers and not their depraved tour bus tales - and it's releasing for iOS and Android.

The game is a collaboration between Roadhouse Interactive and Iron Maiden, who have granted the developer access to their vaults to make sure the game is as authentic as possible.

"As a lifelong fan, I have always thought that Maiden's music, lyrics and cast of characters would provide the perfect basis for a deep RPG experience", says James Hursthouse, CEO of Roadhouse Interactive. "With this game we're creating an outstanding RPG that will appeal to all mobile gamers, including those discovering Maiden for the first time."

In the RPG, players take on the role of the band's mascot Eddie, who has the power to switch between many forms, each with unique powers.

As Eddie, you will explore different worlds, travel through time, and battle characters inspired by Iron Maiden's albums and artwork.

And it's all backed by the band's music, including previously unheard live recordings of Iron Maiden classics adapted for the game by engineer Tony Newton under the close scrutiny of bassist and founding member Steve Harris.

Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast will be available this summer on iOS and Android platforms.
